Week 6 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Jaxson Dart, Tua Tagovailoa, Michael Penix Jr. in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.
Around a third of the fantasy football season is now behind us, and we've seen many surprising performances so far. Most QBs have stayed relatively healthy this year, but it never hurts to grab a good bench QB so that he can step up once your starter goes down.
In this article, we will focus on Jaxson Dart, Tua Tagovailoa, and Michael Penix Jr. Penix rested during the Falcons' bye week, while Dart and Tagovailoa had season-high performances in terms of touchdowns. Dart had some rookie struggles in his second career start as the Giants lost to the Saints, while Tagovailoa failed to inspire the Dolphins to victory over the Panthers despite throwing three touchdowns.
Are Dart, Tagovailoa, and Penix worth adding off the waiver wire in Week 6? Here are the latest outlooks on each for fantasy football.

After leading the Giants to an unlikely win in his first career start, Dart was touted as the new "savior" of this once-proud franchise. In his second start, Dart began the game with back-to-back touchdown drives as New York jumped out to an early 14-3 lead.

However, Dart failed to convert multiple third downs, fumbled the ball away, and threw interceptions on two consecutive drives as the Saints shocked the Giants with a comeback victory.
Despite recording three turnovers, Dart still had a fine fantasy outing, recording 17.6 fantasy points and finishing as the week's QB16. His rushing ability helps him generate enough points to mask his bad plays (109 rushing yards and a touchdown in his last two games).
This makes him a great fit in Brian Daboll's system, which utilizes many QB scrambles. Of course, that could all change if Daboll were to get sacked mid-season, but for now, Dart is an intriguing option.
Tua Tagovailoa Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 30% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
The Miami Dolphins now find themselves in a very tough situation. Just a couple of years ago, in 2023, Tagovailoa finished as the fantasy QB9 and led the league in passing yards as the Dolphins generated the most offensive yards in the NFL.

However, time goes by very quickly in this league; you can be on top of the world one year, and then be in first overall pick contention a couple of years after that. The 1-4 Dolphins now find themselves in that exact same spot.
With the devastating injury to Tyreek Hill and the abysmal play of their offensive line and defense, Tagovailoa will have to perform at the highest level possible if the Dolphins want to get anything out of this season.
Tagovailoa has thrown at least two touchdowns in each of his last four games and has been the fantasy QB12 during that span. He's proven that he can produce at a very high level many times before, and could be a bargain (when healthy) if you pick him up off the waiver wire.
Michael Penix Jr. Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 23% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 2QB Leagues
After benching the experienced (and expensive) Kirk Cousins for Penix late in the 2024 season, the Falcons entered this year hoping Penix would be the man to end their seven-year playoff drought.

Penix started the season off well, recording 24 fantasy points in a Week 1 game that he only lost because of his kicker, Younghoe Koo. Penix didn't have to do much in his second game, which was a win against his fellow 2024 draftee, J.J. McCarthy, and the Minnesota Vikings.
However, Penix had an inexplicably poor performance against the Panthers in Week 3, which led many fans to write him off. Penix bounced back in a big way in Week 4, completing 76.9% of his throws to record career highs in yards (313), touchdowns (two), and passer rating (126.0).
Penix and his squad are now recharged following their bye week, and Penix could provide some decent fantasy value against some of the Falcons' opponents, such as the Dolphins, Patriots, Saints (twice), and Jets.
