Todd McGill's DraftKings, FanDuel PGA DFS picks for the 2025 Procore Championship at Silverado Resort. Picks for daily fantasy golf based on course history
There is little time to rest after the thrashing that Team U.S.A. took this past week at Bethpage Black in the Ryder Cup. Captain Keegan Bradley arguably didn't receive the fairest of shakes, but also made questionable decisions all around that certainly had many questioning how the Americans fell so far behind, despite their historically higher talent level. Nonetheless, it was neat to see history in Europe winning on foreign soil for just the fifth time in history. Now, we head back to our regularly scheduled program...
The Fall Series continues this week in Mississippi at the Sanderson Farms Championship. As is expected, none of the bigger names in golf are making the trip, as Akshay Bhatia headlines the field. While it will undoubtedly have less hype and calmer fans, this is a long-time event that has been a breeding ground for spotlighting up-and-coming talent. For a part of the schedule that has experienced its fair share of shuffling, this event has been more of a mainstay than others.

Even though some of the fall tournaments can drum up decent fields, this isn't exactly one of those events. It doesn't take much to see why most top players choose to skip this week; the golf course itself isn't anything special, it's typically on the heels of whichever cup match is being played that year, and tournaments this time of year are all over the place, so why go to Jackson... Am I right?
Akshay Bhatia may be the top player on paper, but he likely won't be the biggest in popularity. Max Homa, Tom Kim, and European Ryder Cup Team member Rasmus Hojgaard are also in the field. The 24-year-old from Denmark may have just been a part of the biggest competition in golf, but he is still fighting to stay inside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup race to keep his PGA Tour card.
While there may not be many household names to watch over these four days, this course has historically produced a leaderboard that, in retrospect, is typically loaded with talented players who go on to have success elsewhere down the road. So while it may be tempting to take your Sunday snoozer while the broadcast plays in the background, there may be better tournaments for that.

The Country Club of Jackson
Par 72 - 7,461 | Greens: Bermudagrass | Designed By: John Fought
Just surpassing its 100th anniversary, The Country Club of Jackson is a historic piece of property originally designed by legendary architect Donald Ross; however, major renovations in 2008 removed too many of the design elements and character to still consider it as such.
Recent Sanderson Farms Winners
- 2024: Kevin Yu (-23)
- 2023: Luke List (-18)
- 2022: Mackenzie Hughes (-17)
- 2021: Sam Burns (-22)
- 2020: Sergio Garcia (-19)
The Horse
Henrik Norlander
- Notable Finishes: PT2 ('23), T4 ('20 & '21)
The Ponies
Kevin Yu
- Notable Finishes: 1st ('24), T19 ('22)
Returning this year to defend his playoff victory last fall, Kevin Yu looks to keep himself firmly planted inside the top 100 of the FedEx Cup list. Much like many in this piece, he has found success everywhere on this course. Strokes gained averages of +0.760 putting, +0.637 off the tee, and +0.444 are easily good enough to find himself around the lead year in and year out. After a depressing run to close out the regular season, he'll be looking to get the momentum back this week.

Mackenzie Hughes
- Notable Finishes: 1st ('22), T8 ('24)
Somewhat of an outlier in a group of longer hitters, Mackenzie hughes found the winners circle in 2022, which was the highest winning total for this event since 2015. Now that was still at a score of -17 under, but the fact is, the lower scoring gets, the more it begins to push the shorter hitters out. Luckily, the Canadian's +0.938 strokes gained putting average over his 14 rounds here is enough to like his chances coming off a T7 at the Procore earlier this month.
Garrick Higgo
- Notable Finishes: 3rd ('22), T16 ('23)
Boasting a +1.030 strokes gained putting average at The Country Club of Jackson can make many other aspects irrelevant. Garick Higgo will look to get back to getting else going this year after missing the cut in 2024. The South African's length off the tee gives him some advantage if the rest of his game shows up. He recently finished T7 at the Procore Championship to get him to 88th in the FedEx points list, and a strong week at a familiar track would really ease his chances.
