Who Should I Start for Fantasy Football Week 4? Terry McLaurin, Kayshon Boutte, Chris Rodriguez Jr., Cedric Tillman, Sterling Shepard, Tyler Allgeier, Miles Sanders, Jeremy McNichols, Cooper Kupp, Zach Ertz

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) was not spotted at the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. Noah Brown (groin, knee), who did not play in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, was also not present.

McLaurin has been getting multiple medical opinions on a quad injury he suffered in Week 3, and even spent time with a core-muscle specialist. If the 30-year-old misses a second straight practice, he'll be on the wrong side of questionable for this weekend's contest against the Atlanta Falcons.

Washington could be without both McLaurin and Brown, which means that Luke McCaffrey and rookie Jaylin Lane would start in three-wide sets next to Deebo Samuel Sr. Tight end Zach Ertz will be a must-start if McLaurin sits.

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte led the position groups last Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, getting on the field for 56 snaps, which equated to a 76 percent snap share. Boutte saw the field for at least 10 snaps more than each of his fellow receivers, and the only pass-catcher who out-snapped him was tight end Hunter Henry.

Despite playing more than three quarters of the snaps this season, the LSU product has failed to replicate the Week 1 showing in which he caught six passes for 103 yards. Over his last two games combined, he has just three catches on four targets, though he did add a touchdown along the way. Boutte's snap share suggests he should be a low-end WR3/flex option, but his volume and production indicate that he should be left on the bench.

For now, managers should oblige and leave the 23-year-old on the bench in most fantasy leagues. However, his ability to get on the field does spark some optimism.

Although Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. wasn't all that efficient (3.5 yards per carry) in his 2025 debut in the team's 41-24 blowout win over the visiting Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, he did lead the team with 11 carries.

Rodriguez was a healthy scratch the first two weeks, but he was elevated to the active roster for Week 3 after Austin Ekeler tore his Achilles in Week 2. The 24-year-old ran for 39 yards on his 11 carries and was not utilized in the passing game. Rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt was second on the team with eight carries, and he, too, was inefficient with just 26 yards on the ground. Jeremy McNichols and quarterback Marcus Mariota combined for 10 rushing attempts and two touchdowns against the Raiders.

Croskey-Merritt has the most upside in the Commanders' backfield moving forward with Ekeler done for the year, but Rodriguez is worth a waiver-wire pickup if you have JCM rostered or are looking for RB depth. Rodriguez is currently rostered in only 5% of Yahoo leagues.

Dallas Cowboys backup running back Miles Sanders saw more run in Dallas' 31-14 blowout loss on Sunday in Week 3 to the hosting Chicago Bears, carrying the ball nine times for 41 yards and catching all three of his targets for an additional 12 yards through the air.

The 28-year-old looked the best he had in the third game of the season and had 4.6 yards per carry, although his elevated usage mostly came in garbage time in the second half with the Cowboys down by multiple scores. Four of his nine carries came on the last possession of the game.

Fantasy managers looking for RB depth aren't going to be able to count on this kind of workload consistently moving forward, especially once the team finally decides to involve rookie Jaydon Blue (he's been a healthy scratch all three weeks). Right now, Sanders is merely a handcuff for fantasy managers who have Javonte Williams rostered.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp is a flex play at best in Week 4. Kupp has been difficult to project in 2025. He delivered a WR2 outing in Week 2, but has otherwise been unplayable. For context, the Seahawks' offense struggled as a whole in Week 1, found its footing in Week 2, and the defense and special teams dominated in Week 3 so much that the offense was hardly needed.

If Week 4 proves to be a more competitive game in Arizona, there will be room for Kupp to provide fantasy value. The good news is that Kupp does not seem to have lost his talent. He is still very adept at getting open, and he is a great safety valve for quarterback Sam Darnold.

However, with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba entrenched as the clear No. 1 and rookie wideout Tory Horton blossoming, it may be prudent to only start Kupp in games where he will likely be essential to Seattle's success. You likely did not draft Kupp to be a starter anyway, so a wait-and-see approach is advised in Week 4.
