Cal Raleigh Sets Catcher Home Run Record
Cal Raleigh went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Sunday's 11-4 win over the Athletics, cementing himself in the history books in the process. The homers marked his 48th and 49th of the season, which tied and then broke the previous record for most home runs in a single season by a catcher. The former record holder was Salvador Perez, who accomplished the feat in 2021. Raleigh truly is having a historic season for a backstop, slashing .247/.353/.593 with 49 home runs, 106 RBI, 85 runs, and 14 stolen bases with still over a month left to add to his totals.
