Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect Bubba Chandler has been a popular prospect to stash throughout the entire 2025 regular season, as he has been on the verge of a promotion.
This past week, Chandler was finally given the call and made his long-awaited MLB debut.

Bubba Chandler Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
On Friday evening, the top pitching prospect in the Steel City made his MLB debut against the Colorado Rockies. In this game, Chandler was deployed as a long reliever. He tossed four shutout innings and allowed just two hits en route to picking up the save.
In this appearance, Chandler did not walk a batter and was able to strike out three hitters.
While Chandler struggled during his final weeks at Triple-A, it is a great sign to not only see him finally earn the call to the major leagues, but also find high success pitching at the MLB level.
For the time being, fantasy managers should expect Chandler to remain in a long relief role.

Bubba Chandler Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
Even though Chandler's ceiling seemed a bit limited at the moment given his long relief role, fantasy managers should still look to pick him up in all formats this weekend. During his final 51 1/3 innings at Triple-A, Chandler struggled to find much consistency as he posted a 5/96 ERA and a 1.87 WHIP.
However, during his first 48 2/3 innings of the Triple-A season, the right-hander posted an impressive 2.03 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 69:21 K:BB.
While Chandler is likely to remain in a long relief role, given his strong debut, fantasy managers should expect the top prospect to be given a few turns in the rotation before the end of the campaign.
Since saves became an official stat in 1969, Bubba Chandler is the first Pirate to earn a save in his MLB debut.
