Connor Norby to Start Rehab Assignment on Wednesday
Connor Norby (wrist) will start a minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, according to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. Norby is finally ready to play in games again after having surgery to fix a fractured hamate bone in his left hand in the middle of July. The Fish just put Graham Pauley (oblique) on the 10-day injured list on Monday, so until Norby is able to return, the Marlins will likely give most of the starts at the hot corner to Javier Sanoja. If the 25-year-old Norby doesn't have a setback with his hand during his rehab assignment, he could return to the Marlins at some point next week. When he's eventually activated from the IL, Norby will finish the year as Miami's starting third baseman. Before his injury in his first full year with the Fish, Norby was hitting .241/.289/.364 with six homers, 26 RBI, 33 runs and seven steals in 72 games.
