Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman (ankle) is participating in baseball activities and looks to be on pace to return at some point in September, reports Sonja Chen of MLB.com. He has been on the 10-day injured list with a right ankle sprain that has kept him out of game action since August 1. Baseball activities are a good start, but he'll still have to build up to the point where he can run with max effort and likely go on a rehab assignment before returning to the majors. The 30-year-old had been in a lengthy slump after starting the season out strong, and he's now batting only .228 with a .281 on-base percentage on the season. He'll be looking to make his return and finish out the year with a strong final month.--Jeremy Heist
