Theo Wease Jr. Scores Two Touchdowns for the Dolphins
Theo Wease Jr. caught a pair of second-half touchdown passes from fellow rookie Quinn Ewers in his team's 24-17 win over the Lions. Wease led the team with 80 receiving yards and tied for the team lead with six catches on his busy Saturday in Detroit. The undrafted rookie receiver out of Missouri and Oklahoma is battling for a roster spot and made a huge statement with his performance in Week 2 of the preseason. The Dolphins' wide receiver corps is very deep, led by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as star starters, with Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Malik Washington rounding out the strong top four. Dee Eskridge and Tahj Washington also appear to be ahead of Wease at this point, with Wease likely headed for the practice squad. However, this huge performance could help him push past one of those options and secure a spot on the 53-man roster. Keep an eye on how the depth chart looks to see where Wease could fit into the team's regular-season plans.
