When Is Bubba Chandler Getting Called Up? Fantasy Baseball Prospect Outlook (Week 21 Update)

Bubba Chandler - MLB Prospects Stock Graphic

When is Bubba Chandler getting called up? Will Chandler get promoted in August 2025? Read about this top fantasy baseball prospect outlook heading into Week 21.

Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed prospect pitcher Bubba Chandler has been knocking on the MLB door throughout the entire 2025 campaign. However, given his lack of consistency at Triple-A, the Pirates have been hesitant to give him the call.

With the season nearing an end, the Pirates could look to give him a brief taste or prepare him for the 2026 regular season.

Should fantasy managers continue to stash Chandler on their bench? When should fantasy managers expect him to get the call? Let's dive in!

Bubba Chandler Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball

In his most recent outing on August 10, Chanler continued to struggle. Facing Triple-A Omaha, the right-hander allowed three runs and six hits across just four innings of work. In this outing, he held a modest 3:2 K:BB.

This was his second straight outing allowing at least three runs. However, in that start, Chandler showed much stronger command, allowing only one walk while striking out seven hitters.

Overall, since the start of July, Chandler has been far from effective, holding an underwhelming 4.58 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and a 36:15 K:BB through 35 1/3 total innings of work.

Bubba Chandler Outlook for Fantasy Baseball

While his second-half production has been far from promising, Chandler was viewed as a top stash candidate during the early part of the campaign as he flashed immense upside. Through his first 48 2/3 innings at Triple-A, Chandler posted an elite 2.03 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. Last summer, Chandler received a brief taste of Triple-A and showed similar upside, posting a 1.83 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP across 39 1/3 innings.

However, he took a significant step back in June, when he allowed 12 runs in 12 2/3 innings, and he has yet to find his footing since this rough stretch.

Despite his inconsistencies, managers should still view him as a top pitching prospect to stash heading into Week 21 of the regular season. When he does get the call, he will still have value, given his ability to rack up strikeouts.
