Parker Meadows Nearing Rehab Assignment?
Parker Meadows (quad) is "hitting and throwing daily" and "closing in on potentially beginning a rehab assignment soon," according to MLB.com. Meadows has been on the injured list since July 28 with a right quad strain. Multiple injuries have limited Meadows to 137 plate appearances this season, and he's struggled to a .200/.270/.296 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI, 15 runs scored, and three stolen bases. The Tigers have been using a combination of Javier Baez and Wenceel Perez in center field while Meadows has been out. Meadows could see the majority of starts against right-handed pitching when he returns, but he'll have to perform better the rest of the way than he has so far in a small sample.
