Joey Loperfido Taking a Seat Again in Series Opener
Joey Loperfido (knee) will take a seat on the bench for Friday's series opener in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. Loperfido injured his knee in Tuesday's game against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field and will now miss his second straight game. X-rays came back negative on the 26-year-old, though, so he figures to get back on the field at some point this weekend. Davis Schneider will start in left field and bat leadoff, while Myles Straw is in right field and hitting ninth against Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw on Friday. Schneider has never faced Kershaw in his career, while Straw is hitless in six at-bats against him. Schneider will be the better DFS sleeper at the top of the batting order. He has hit .281 (9-for-32) with two home runs, two doubles, nine RBI, a steal and five runs scored in his last 11 games. Scheider hit two of his seven homers on the year on Wednesday.
