Camilo Doval Drawing Significant Interest
MLB.com's Francys Romero reports that multiple teams are monitoring San Francisco Giants closer Camilo Doval ahead of Thursday's July 31 trade deadline, and he's drawing significant interest. Doval is among the relievers who could be on the move in the next few hours, according to sources. The 28-year-old Dominican reliever hasn't been perfect, but he's having a bounce-back 2025 campaign after a disastrous 2024 season that saw him post a 4.88 ERA in 59 innings pitched. Doval led the big leagues with 39 saves in 2023 and is currently sporting a 3.15 ERA (3.31 FIP), a 1.20 WHIP, 15 saves, 47 strikeouts and 24 walks in 45 2/3 innings pitched. While he has been shaky in the month of July, Doval could be a serious bullpen upgrade for a contending team this week. If Doval is traded, look for Randy Rodriguez to become the Giants' top option for saves.
