The St. Louis Cardinals selected left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle out of the University of Tennessee with the fifth pick in the 2025 MLB Draft. The 6-foot-2 southpaw posted a 3.20 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a phenomenal 42.6 percent strikeout rate (34.3 percent K-BB%) this year with a 10-4 record for the Volunteers. He offers a 75-grade fastball that can touch 100 mph, along with a slider, cutter, and splitter. Expect to see Doyle rise quickly through the St. Louis farm system and potentially make his MLB debut as early as 2026.--Jarod Rupp
