Andrew Heaney Allows Two Homers In Monday's Loss
Andrew Heaney did not have his best stuff in Monday's 5-0 loss to the Diamondbacks. Heaney pitched five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits (including a solo home run and a two-run HR) and three walks with two strikeouts. Despite the lackluster performance, the 33-year-old has put together a decent season, going 3-4 with a 3.41 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and a 6.53 K/9 rate in 11 starts and 60 2/3 IP. Heaney's next matchup will be a tougher one at the Padres. While his ERA and WHIP have been fine, Heaney has not offered a lot of strikeout upside, limiting his appeal in tougher matchups like his next one. At this point, he could conservatively be started in middling or favorable matchups.
