David Peterson Solid in Longest Start of 2025
David Peterson allowed two earned runs and five hits over 7 2/3 innings in his team's 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran walked two and struck out seven to secure his fourth consecutive quality start and third win of 2025 (3-2). Peterson was yet again solid -- as he has been all season -- notching his tenth straight outing with three earned runs or fewer. It hasn't always been efficient, but he was slightly better with walks this time around after surrendering three or more across his last three appearances. The Oregon product will carry a strong 2.79 ERA and (slightly inflated )1.28 WHIP into an enticing start against the visiting Colorado Rockies late next week.
