Hayden Wesneski Moved to 60-Day Injured List
Hayden Wesneski (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL to make room for left-hander Brandon Walter on the 40-man roster. This is a reminder that Wesneski will undergo Tommy John surgery this week, which will knock him out for the rest of the 2025 season and probably at least half of 2026, if not more. The 27-year-old former sixth-round pick in 2019 by the New York Yankees out of Sam Houston State was in his first year in Houston after three seasons for the Chicago Cubs. In six starts for the Astros before going down with a right-elbow injury, Wesneski posted a 4.50 ERA (4.78 FIP) and 1.09 WHIP with 29 strikeouts and six walks in 32 innings pitched. If you haven't already in redraft formats, Wesneski should be dropped.
