Hayden Wesneski Won't Pitch Until Next Week
Hayden Wesneski won't make his next start until potentially early next week in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Wesneski will have extra time between starts with right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. (forearm) coming off the 15-day injured list to make his 2025 debut this Sunday against the Chicago White Sox. The 27-year-old Wesneski had no walks and only one strikeout in five innings of work (two earned runs) in his last outing on April 25 against the Kansas City Royals for his second loss of the season. It wasn't a terrible outing, but Wesneski definitely wasn't as sharp as he was in his first four starts for Houston. Hopefully the extra rest will end up working out well for the former Chicago Cub, but the matchup will be a tough one on the road against the Brew Crew. Wesneski has a 3.86 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 26 K's in 28 innings over his first five starts in 2025.
