NFL Wild Card Weekend Fantasy Football Weather Report

Justin Tucker - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Kicker Streamers

Adam's Wild Card Weekend NFL weather report for fantasy football (2024). He looks at which NFL games will be affected by weather to make key fantasy start/sit decisions.

Welcome to the NFL playoffs! Sure, your traditional fantasy football league has come to an end, but there's still so much left to play for. There is the FFPC Playoff Challenge, Daily Fantasy Contests, and so much more. As always, the purpose of this article is to help you make informed lineup decisions based on the weather forecast. Yes, in some cases, the weather can have a major impact on player production.

We will rely on the most accurate and up-to-date weather forecasts for each stadium from AccuWeather, a source that provides comprehensive weather maps. Factors such as temperature, precipitation, wind speed/direction, and visibility can play a crucial role in shaping game outcomes and statistics.

Our goal with this article is to assist you in making informed decisions for your fantasy teams and other betting activities, allowing you to capitalize on opportunities or navigate challenges posed by weather dynamics. Here is your comprehensive fantasy football weather report for Wild Card Weekend of the 2024 NFL season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Dome Games (No Weather Impact)

Some games during Wild Card Weekend will benefit from being played in domed stadiums, where the weather won't affect the outcome. These indoor venues provide a consistent environment.

  • Los Angeles Chargers at Houston Texans
  • Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams

Minimal Weather Impact

These outdoor games during Wild Card Weekend don't appear to have very many weather concerns.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens (Saturday, 1/11 at 8:00 p.m. ET)

We've got ourselves a good old-fashioned AFC North showdown in Baltimore on Saturday night between the Steelers and Ravens. It's supposed to snow Friday into Saturday, but it looks like it'll be ending early in the morning. Luckily, this game isn't kicking off until 8:00 p.m. ET, so there doesn't appear to be a threat of any precipitation.

As far as the winds are concerned, they'll be sustained at 12 miles per hour (mph) with gusts reaching 24 mph. That'll lead to a brisk real-feel temperature of just 15 degrees, but it shouldn't have much of an impact on the game. Should gusts reach 30+ mph, the kicking game could be impacted, but for now, we'll classify this game as having "minimal weather impact."

Can Russell Wilson and the 10-point underdog Steelers go into M&T Bank Stadium and upset Lamar Jackson and the soaring Ravens offense this weekend? Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills (Sunday, 1/12 at 1:00 p.m. ET)

It's shaping up to be a spectacular day for football in Orchard Park, N.Y., on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills play host to the Denver Broncos. High temperatures will be in the low-30s with sustained winds out of the west-northwest at just 6 mph. Wind gusts are only expected to be around 15 mph and there's just a 6% chance of precipitation. It doesn't get much better than that in Buffalo in January.

Josh Allen and the Bills are heavy nine-point favorites in this one, but Bo Nix and company are fresh off a 38-0 beatdown of the Kansas City Chiefs. Granted it was mostly their second-stringers, but still, the Broncos are flying high heading into Buffalo on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday, 1/12 at 4:30 p.m. ET)

You couldn't ask for better weather in South Philadelphia for the Packers and Eagles game on Sunday. It will be mostly sunny with high temperatures in the low-to-mid 40s with light winds out of the west-northwest at 5 mph. There's just a 2% chance of precipitation.

A.J. Brown is working through a knee issue, but expect Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert to do some damage through the air against a Packers team that has allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game (249.6) to opponents on the road this season. Meanwhile, the Eagles have allowed the second-fewest passing yards per game (159.1) at home this season.

Whoever you decide to roll with in your fantasy lineups, rest assured the weather won't have any impact in this one.

Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sunday, 1/12 at 8:00 p.m. ET)

Here's the game we might see some precipitation. However, it looks like it'll be mostly light rain if anything in Tampa, Fla., when the Buccaneers play host to the Washington Commanders. Winds will be light out of the northeast at just 6 mph with gusts topping out at 16 mph. It'll be around 50 degrees at kickoff.

This game features the highest over/under of Wild Card Weekend at 50.5 points, so the sportsbooks are expecting some fireworks. Don't let a little rain deter you from firing up guys like Jayden Daniels, Baker Mayfield, Terry McLaurin, and Mike Evans. Heck, even the secondary and tertiary pass-catchers in Jalen McMillan, Olamide Zaccheaus, Cade Otton, and Zach Ertz could all have some value in this potential shootout.

Severe Weather Impact

None of the games during Wild Card Weekend are expected to have severe weather conditions.
