NFL DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel SNF Cowboys vs. 49ers Daily Fantasy Football Picks - Sunday Night Showdown Slate (Week 8)

George Kittle - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, Draft Targets

Tonight's top NFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel -- Cowboys vs. 49ers SNF showdown slate Week 8 (Oct. 27, 2024). John's NFL daily fantasy sleeper picks.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have a very fun NFC matchup tonight as we have two NFC hopefuls squaring off in the Bay Area, as Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys (3-3) head west to take on Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers (3-4). While both of these teams came into the season with Super Bowl aspirations, things have not gone to plan through these first seven weeks. With both teams needing a win, we should be in for nothing short of an exciting Sunday Night Football showdown.

Thanks to today's advanced analytics, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and the like to help put some lunch money in your pocket. Let's make some coin this season, gang, and get right to it.

I will provide you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Cowboys vs. 49ers Sunday night NFL DFS showdown slate on October 27. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks. MVP/Captain - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Jordan Mason - RB, $16,500 (DK), $15,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 128 rushing attempts, 667 rushing yards, 12 targets, 10 receptions, 86 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and one fumble lost
  • Projected Rush DVOA: 7.98%

I'll lead things off with Jordan Mason. Mason is in a prime spot here against Dallas' 29th-ranked defense. Mason has struggled the last three weeks, partially due to an injury and partially due to tough matchups. While he'll get a bit of relief from a matchup standpoint, he'll be heavily relied upon as the 49ers come into this one with Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings out of the lineup.

My model projects Mason to play a part in both the rushing and receiving game, tallying 109.48 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. I'm expecting a huge night from Mason and I'll most likely have him in all of my lineups on this showdown.

Brock Purdy - QB, $14,100 (DK), $13,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 1,841 passing yards, nine passing touchdowns, seven interceptions, 34 rushing attempts, 154 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, and two fumbles lost
  • Projected Pass DVOA: 35.37%

I'll take a look at Niners quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy's stats look tough to the naked eye, but San Francisco's passing offense hasn't been as bad as it's looked, ranking sixth in passing DVOA. Nevertheless, it'll be an uphill battle from here on out as Brandon Aiyuk is now out for the season with ACL and MCL tears.

Purdy will have to step things up tonight against a tough NFC opponent, and my model projects him to step up to the plate. My model projects 265.95 yards in the air and another 15.9 on the ground, throwing for 1.88 touchdowns and rushing for another 0.18.

Other Captains/MVPs: George Kittle, Deebo Samuel Sr., CeeDee Lamb

Flex Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

George Kittle - TE, $8,800 (DK), $11,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 42 targets, 34 receptions, 375 receiving yards, five touchdowns
  • Opponent DVOA vs. TE: -5.6%

In my Purdy lineups, I'll pair him with George Kittle in every single one. Kittle effectively jumps up to the No. 2 target in the San Francisco passing offense with the loss of Aiyuk. It shouldn't be very difficult for him to slide into this role, as Kittle has been excellent this season. He comes into this matchup as TE2 this season and has caught a touchdown in four of his last five games.

My model projects Kittle to catch 4.47 of his 6.97 targets for 55.31 yards and 0.55 touchdowns. A strong matchup with Dallas, which ranks 27th in receiving touchdowns allowed to tight ends this season, feels like a match made in heaven. I'll be placing a couple of shekels on him to score one here.

Rico Dowdle - RB, $8,000 (DK), $10,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 59 rushing attempts, 246 rushing yards, 20 targets, 16 receptions, 131 receiving yards, two touchdowns
  • Projected Rush DVOA: -13.12%

I'll flip the field and look at the first of my two Dallas players tonight in Rico Dowdle. Dowdle has been nothing if not inconsistent in 2024, mostly due to the inconsistency in touches. Without feeling great about it, I'll bet on Dowdle starting strong with early touches in this game against a San Francisco defense that ranks 21st in rushing DVOA.

My model projects Dowdle to run the ball 11.7 times for 47.78 yards while adding 1.89 receptions for 14.76 yards on 2.19 targets. It's not much, and certainly not enough for me to consider him in the CPT/MVP spot, but I'm concerned with the projected production of this Dallas offense.

I'm not saying to fade the likes of Dak Prescott or CeeDee Lamb, but I'd rather stick with a cheaper Dowdle as my Dallas target in my 49ers-heavy lineups. He'll most likely be my second-highest-owned Cowboy in this one.

Other Flex Options: CeeDee Lamb, Deebo Samuel Sr., Dak Prescott

Value Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Aubrey - K, $5,400 (DK), $9,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 17-of-19 field goals attempted/made, 9-of-9 extra points attempted/made

My highest-owned Cowboy this evening will be Brandon Aubrey. I've written up Chris Boswell of the Steelers multiple times across the past few weeks and here I am writing up Aubrey for the same reasons. The fact of the matter is that Dallas does not match up well with this 49ers team.

Dallas's offense is good enough to push the ball down the field, but I sense San Francisco's defense will offer plenty of resistance on its side of the field. Surely it won't be a shock to anyone when Aubrey knocks down multiple 50-yarders in this one.

Ricky Pearsall - WR, $5,800 (DK), $9,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: Five targets, three receptions, 21 receiving yards
  • Opponent DVOA vs. WR2: 43.7%

I'll wrap things up for this matchup with Ricky Pearsall. I've mentioned, seemingly ad nauseam, that San Francisco will be without Brandon Aiyuk for the remainder of the year. This opens up an opportunity for the young rookie, who has to feel blessed to get on the field following a near-tragic off-the-field incident before the season's start.

My model projects Pearsall to catch 3.71 of his 6.54 targets for 47.23 yards and 0.31 touchdowns.

It was encouraging to see him catch three of five targets in his NFL debut last week, and I expect him to take another step forward in this one.

Other Value Options: Kyle Juszczyk, Chris Conley, Jake Moody, 49ers D/ST

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and good luck, everyone!
