Tyler Boyd fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 8 (2024). Should you start or sit Tyler Boyd for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR5
ANALYSIS: Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd will presumably step into the WR2 role now that DeAndre Hopkins has departed for the Kansas City Chiefs. This doesn't mean that he's worth starting in fantasy football. None of the Titans' receivers this year have been trustworthy as starts in any leagues.
More often than not, "sneaky flex play" is just code for "not a good fantasy player," not a good situation, or both. Tennessee's offense has been dreadful this season. Boyd, Hopkins, and Calvin Ridley, the team's top-3 wideouts, have a combined two total games with double-digit PPR fantasy points.

Tennessee's tandem of quarterbacks, Will Levis and Mason Rudolph, have not shown that they are capable of supporting even one fantasy-relevant wide receiver. Boyd has been in the league for nine seasons and has just two finishes inside the top-20 receivers in PPR scoring, and those were with a significantly better quarterback (Joe Burrow) when he was much younger.
It's tough to find anything that indicates that the former Bengal won't have another pedestrian outing unless he catches a touchdown or is fed a huge amount of targets. They'll be facing a Detroit Lions team coming off of a massive blowout of the Dallas Cowboys and an upset win over the previously undefeated Minnesota Vikings.
Sit Boyd this week.
