DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (10/22/24)

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for Tuesday (10/22/24). His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

The Fun Belt and C-USA are back for some Tuesday night college football. Unfortunately, a lot of these teams are littered with questionable injury tags, which hit a little differently in college. These smaller conferences aren't required to provide injury reports, so we may have to wait until kickoff to see if our players will be in action. It's still better than no football games at all!

We begin in Miami with Florida International hosting Sam Houston. The nightcap is in Ruston with Louisiana Tech taking on the mess that is UTEP.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/22/24, locking at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

College Football Betting Picks - October 22

Since we have DFS slates this week and not just single-game showdowns, I'll go ahead and add the betting picks here instead of posting them on X. It's one-stop shopping this week!

Sam Houston (-5.5) at Florida International

Betting Pick Confidence Factor: 3

Considering this line has fallen off, I take it to mean that Vegas thinks that Hunter Watson will miss the game. The Bearkats were noticeably worse on offense with Jase Bauer in there.

However, a week of practicing with the first team will do him well and FIU has one of the worst rush defenses in the country (203.14 yards per game allowed, 2.7 TD per game). The Bearkats are going to trample the Panthers into submission. Give me Sam Houston.

UTEP at Louisiana Tech (-5.5)

Betting Pick Confidence Factor: 4

This line is also falling. Does that mean that UTEP is better with Skyler Locklear at quarterback? Or that Evan Bullock looked human? Whatever the case, it's unwarranted. Bullock still doesn't turn the ball over. La Tech by double this!

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Evan Bullock, Louisiana Tech ($7.2K)

The honeymoon is over for Bullock. He still didn't turn the ball over in the loss to New Mexico State, but he barely completed half of his passes and lost valuable points via sacks.

The going will be much easier at home against UTEP, which is why I'm willing to endure the price hike and play Bullock anyway. We're not going to see the ceiling game like we did against MTSU, but there should be a happy medium.

Skyler Locklear, UTEP ($6.1K)

Unlike Sam Houston and FIU, we know that Cade McConnell is out for UTEP. He may be out for the rest of the season. That puts Locklear back in action. He was solid in the win over FIU last week, putting up his best stat line against a FBS team this season. We can work with that.

Also consider:  Hunter Waston, Sam Houston ($8K); Keyone Jenkins, Florida International ($7K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

DJ McKinney, Sam Houston ($5.6K)

McKinney led the team in carries against Western Kentucky, but the Bearkats abandoned the run once they got behind. That may happen again. Jay Ducker had more receptions, but McKinney still caught a pair of passes. He got more touches than Ducker, suggesting that Sam Houston values the freshman at least as much as Ducker.

This could be a situation where Sam Houston rides the hot hand. Those are very annoying situations, but both McKinney and Ducker might get enough carries against FIU in a game where the Bearkats will try to milk the clock and won't throw unless they have to. Of course, If Watson plays, McKinney is the guy I want. Watson will steal enough carries to make Ducker dependent on receptions.

Jevon Jackson, UTEP ($5.3K)

Ezell Jolly lost a fumble in the first half against FIU last week and the Miners elected to go back to Jackson for a spark. It worked. Jackson racked up 148 yards on a staggering 26 carries and scored twice. Most importantly, he didn't fumble. Expect Jackson to start this week, but his leash may be as short as Jolly's if things don't go well early.

Also consider: Omiri Wiggins, Louisiana Tech ($4.8K); Kejon Owens, Florida International ($4K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Tru Edwards, Louisiana Tech ($6.5K)

That's why I love watching Tru Edwards. Say what you will about Bullock, but Edwards has 23 receptions for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the three games since he took over at quarterback. Edwards is by far the most targeted receiver by Bullock. Expect another big game out of Tru.

Eric Rivers, Florida International ($5.8K)

Forget the spelling error and just watch the play. Rivers has five consecutive games between 91 and 101 receiving yards with at least four receptions in all of them. Even if Keyone Jenkins misses the game (he is expected to play), Rivers is still an elite option for this price range.

Nazeviah Burris, Florida International ($3.5K)

The Stetson transfer started slowly this season, but he has 10 receptions over the last two games for 101 yards and a 15-yard carry out of the backfield. FIU is using him a lot more. He overshadowed Dean Patterson by a large margin last week. Burris could be a great value if FIU is going to keep looking his way.

Also consider: Kenny Odom, UTEP ($6.1K); Qua'Vez Humphreys, Sam Houston ($5K); Jimmy Holiday, Louisiana Tech ($4.4K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

Louisiana Tech

A Tech stack of Edwards, Wiggins, and Bullock led to cash last week. I might add Jimmy Holiday to the mix this week to get another piece of the best offense on the slate.

Sam Houston

FIU's run defense is awful, so I will definitely have Ducker and DJ McKinney in my lineups. Jase Bauer is a better runner than Watson, so if Watson is out, Bauer should be part of the stack. If Watson plays, I will use Watson and Humphreys as his receiver.

Also consider: UTEP, Florida International
