Andy discusses if top prospect Junior Caminero is worth stashing in redraft leagues in Week 20.
Tampa Bay Rays third base prospect Junior Caminero has been one of the best hitters in the minor leagues this season at Triple-A.
The 21-year-old has battled a handful of injuries this summer and is finally back to full health and mashing at Triple-A.
However, knowing when to stash an elite prospect can put you over the edge and secure you a fantasy championship. In this piece, I will discuss how high Caminero's potential could be in 2024 and when he might get the call.
How High Is Junior Caminero's Fantasy Potential?
Through 47 games at Triple-A Durham, the top prospect holds a strong .262/.322/.479 slash line with 11 home runs, 30 RBI, and one stolen base.
Early today, Junior Caminero doubled on the hardest hit ball in AAA this season.

Caminero got a brief taste of the big leagues last summer and held a .235/.278/.353 line with one long ball through a small seven-game stint.
At Double-A last summer, the infielder posted a stellar .309/.373/.548 line with 20 home runs, 62 RBI, and three stolen bases. Caminero has proved to show elite power potential with strong hitting skills that should translate very well in the big leagues.
When Might Junior Caminero Get A Major-League Opportunity?
The top prospect in Tampa Bay could be on his way back to the majors any day now. First, the Rays traded their starting third baseman Isaac Paredes to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for a handful of prospects and utility man Christopher Morel.
While Morel has had experience at the hot corner, his defense is not too impressive and he may eventually shift to a designated hitter role.
Another reason, the 21-year-old is on the verge of a promotion is that he recently recovered from a quad strain that kept him sidelined since May. Through his first 12 games back at Durham, he has posted an excellent .292/.314/.521 line with three home runs.
Most hitters need to swing with two hands to hit homers. Junior Caminero is not most hitters 😤@DurhamBulls | @RaysBaseball | @RaysPlayerDev pic.twitter.com/NcRs7fxquv

The injury was clearly just a minor setback as Caminero has picked up right where he left off. Caminero has elite power potential and could be a league winner down the stretch. He should be stashed in all formats.
