What should we expect from the teams in the NFC West during the 2024 NFL season? Taking a look at the win-loss projections for each team.

The NFC West division will be quite competitive this upcoming season, as all the starting quarterbacks will be healthy to start the season. The San Francisco 49ers have won the division in the last two seasons and will start this year as a favorite to win it again.

However, the Los Angeles Rams are a serious threat to them, and as evident by last season, they can win any game when Matthew Stafford is healthy. As for the Cardinals, they have Kyler Murray back and fully healthy. The Seahawks have a new head coach in Mike Macdonald, and fans are looking forward to life without Pete Carroll.

San Francisco 49ers - Prediction: 12-5

The San Francisco 49ers are coming off another Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. In the past, we have seen the Super Bowl losing team having a kind of slump, which the Philadelphia Eagles suffered quite later last season.

Despite that, the 49ers still arguably have the best roster in football, and they deserve to be the favorites to win the division. I think the Rams can give them a run for their money, but the 49ers will edge them out by a game or two for the division title.

I have the 49ers going 12-5 again this season, with potential losses to the Rams in Week 3, the Chiefs in Week 7, Green Bay in Week 12, the Lions in Week 17, and dropping a game at either Seattle or Arizona. If Brandon Aiyuk gets traded, the Rams will have a great shot at winning the division.

Los Angeles Rams - Prediction: 10-7

The Los Angeles Rams will be confident heading into this season, as they exceeded expectations last year. Although Aaron Donald has retired, if Cooper Kupp stays healthy, the offense will be able to outscore anyone in the league.

The Rams now have a tandem of running backs at their disposal, Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, with whom Sean McVay can work wonders to ease the pressure on Matthew Stafford.

I have the Rams going 11-6 with losses coming against Detroit in Week 1, Seattle in Week 9, Philadelphia in Week 12, San Francisco in Week 15, the Jets in Week 16, and dropping one game at home to either Miami or Buffalo.

Seattle Seahawks - Prediction: 7-10

The Seattle Seahawks last won the NFC West in 2020 but have done fairly well given their quarterback situation. Geno Smith will continue under new head coach Mike Macdonald, but the roster doesn't look strong enough to make the playoffs this year.

McDonald will eventually improve the team, but this year might be too early for the younger players to step up and challenge the likes of the 49ers and the Rams in the division.

I expect the Seahawks to take a step back and finish 7-10 this year. They could be 3-2 by Week 5, but after that, their schedule gets tougher, and Seattle will find it tough to sweep even the Cardinals this year. The franchise could potentially pivot to a younger quarterback next year, with Macdonald firmly ready to challenge a 49ers team that will lose some key players after this season.

Arizona Cardinals - Prediction: 6-11

The Arizona Cardinals haven't won the NFC West since 2015, and their drought is expected to continue. The Cardinals finished 4-13 in Jonathan Gannon's first year as their head coach last season and are expected to improve on that.

Unfortunately, they don't have an easy schedule, and even with Kyler Murray, it will be tough for them to make the playoffs. I expect them to finish 6-11, with wins against Washington in Week 4, Chargers in Week 7, New England in Week 15, and Panthers in Week 16, splitting the season series with the Seahawks and potentially getting a win over either the Rams or the 49ers at the end of the season.

All eyes will be on Marvin Harrison Jr. as he takes the field in his rookie year. Hopefully, Murray and the Ohio State product will hit the ground running. Gannon will make this team play hard, but sometimes talent on the other teams will be hard for the Cardinals to overcome.
