John's top NFL DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Eagles vs. Cowboys DFS showdown slate on 12/10. His Sunday Night Football daily fantasy football advice.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have what could be a fun matchup tonight as the Green Bay Packers (5-6) look to keep things rolling following back-to-back wins against the Chargers and Lions, respectively. They'll head to Arrowhead to take on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs (8-3). 

We've been pretty successful over the past few seasons with these showdown slates and hopefully, that trend continues from last year into this year. Most of us started our fantasy journeys with football, so it's always nice when it comes around. Thanks to the advanced analytics of today, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and the like to help put some lunch money in your pocket. Let's make some coin this season gang, and let's get right to it.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Eagles vs. Cowboys Sunday Night NFL DFS showdown slate on December 10. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. MVP/Captain Plays

Dak Prescott - QB, $15,900 (DK), $15,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 3,234 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, six interceptions, 41 rushing attempts, 174 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns. 
  • Projected Pass DVOA: 30.38%

I'll start things off with Dak Prescott, who I give the slight lean over Jalen Hurts from a fantasy perspective in this one. The fact of the matter is, that the Eagles' secondary has been getting shredded this season. This includes the first time these two teams matched up, where Prescott threw for 374 passing yards and three touchdowns. In this second go-around, Dak projects to throw for 308.75 yards and 2.56 touchdowns, while adding 15.73 yards and 0.13 touchdowns with his legs.

Jalen Hurts - QB, $16,500 (DK), $16,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 2,995 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 121 rushing attempts, 430 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, and four fumbles lost. 
  • Projected Pass DVOA: 9.39%

I'll take a look at Jaken Hurts next. There are a lot of eyes on Hurts and the Eagles, as many who believe the Eagles have been lucky to be where they are at this point in the season have felt vindicated following their poor performance against San Francisco last week. Hurts will look to turn the narrative once again, projecting to 227.86 passing yards and 1.41 touchdowns, while adding 45.46 rushing yards and 0.55 rushing touchdowns. This is arguably the most pivotal game of the season for both of these teams, and Hurts has shown a tendency to play up in the big moments. I expect that once again in this one.

DFS Flex Plays

CeeDee Lamb - WR, $11,200 (DK), $14,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: Nine rushing attempts, 84 rushing yards, 121 targets, 90 receptions, 1,182 receiving yards, eight touchdowns, and one fumble lost.  
  • Opponent DVOA vs. WR1: -5.79%

I'll take a look at CeeDee Lamb next, and at this point, you have to. Sure, he's the most expensive player on DraftKings, but what is FanDuel thinking here with the $14,000 price tag? For starters, the last time these two teams met, CeeDee caught 11 of his 16 targets for 191 receiving yards. Here, he projects to 9.08 receptions on 10.4 targets for 115.83 yards and 0.95 touchdowns. The Eagles will have Bradley Roby back to line up against Lamb in the slot, but it's hard to think he doesn't have another great game.

Jake Ferguson - TE, $6,800 (DK), $9,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 66 targets, 46 receptions, 498 receiving yards, five touchdowns. 
  • Opponent DVOA vs. TE: 25.46%

I'll take a look at Jake Ferguson next, who also had himself a great game back on November 5 in Philly. In that one, he grabbed seven of his 10 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown. This was his best game of the season, and it's to be expected against this Eagles defense that ranks 31st in the NFL in DVOA against tight ends. He projects to 4.37 receptions on 5.46 targets for 47.63 yards and 0.42 touchdowns in this showdown, but I think he leans a bit more toward his ceiling here.

Other Flex Options: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, D'Andre Swift, Brandin Cooks

 

DFS Value Plays

Dallas Goedert - TE, $5,200 (DK), $8,500 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 52 targets, 38 receptions, 410 receiving yards, two touchdowns. 
  • Opponent DVOA vs. TE: 8.8%

I'll stick with the tight ends here as I take a look at Dallas Goedert. Goedert was a full participant in Friday's practice and will look to suit up for the first time since these two teams last matched up back on November 5, as he missed the last three games with a broken forearm. Goedert had three receptions for 50 yards in that matchup, the last reception being the one where he sustained an injury. He projects 3.62 receptions on 5.52 targets for 42.78 yards and 0.33 touchdowns. This is such a dramatic price drop for what I believe is a huge part of the Eagles' offense, and I see him making his mark on this game.

Michael Gallup - WR, $4,200 (DK), $8,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Stats: 47 targets, 28 receptions, 357 receiving yards, one touchdown. 
  • Opponent DVOA vs. Other WR: 7.51%

I'll wrap things up with Michael Gallup. Gallup has had a relatively quiet season now that Brandin Cooks has taken over the "WR2" role in Dallas. Nevertheless, he projects to 2.22 receptions on 3.57 targets for 27.53 yards and 0.16 touchdowns. I suppose this is relatively on par with the last two teams these matched up, where he caught two of three targets for 19 yards. The Eagles struggled against receivers that line up on the left side, ranking second in targets and eighth in receptions allowed. They're also the worst in the league in the slot. Gallup lines up on the left side 53.5% of the time and in the slot 37.7% of the time. I think Gallup grabs a touchdown in this one.

Other Value Options: Kenneth Gainwell, Brandon Aubrey, Jake Elliott
