Is Bijan Robinson Injured or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Bijan Robinson - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Rookies, Draft Sleepers

Is Bijan Robinson healthy or injured? Will Bijan Robinson be ready for Week 8? Read the latest Bijan Robinson fantasy football injury updates.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has been one of the most impressive rookies of 2023. Going into Week 7, he was the RB8 in terms of PPR scoring.

However, those managers who started Robinson were surprised when he was barely used in the Falcons' victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished the game with just one rush for three yards.

So why wasn't Robinson more active? Is Bijan Robinson injured?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Is Bijan Robinson Injured?

Robinson wasn't featured on the Falcons' injury report all week. So why didn't he play more? It turns out that Robinson was suffering from a severe headache.

The headache didn't crop up until the night before the game, which is why he wasn't listed on the injury reports, and there was never any question that he would be on the active roster.

He said that he tried to go but that the headache kept limiting him. "I talked to Coach Smith, and he was like, 'I don't want to risk anything.'"

In place of Robinson, Tyler Allgeier ran for 59 yards on 21 carries, and Cordarelle Patterson ran for 56 yards on 10 carries. Desmond Ridder also ran six times for 38 yards and a touchdown.

While the lack of usage was annoying for some fantasy managers, the Falcons did win--albeit only by a field goal--to take the lead in the NFC South. There are some questions about whether the Falcons should have listed Robinson on their injury report, so the NFL is investigating.

Bijan Robinson Injury Update

Fantasy managers do not have to worry about Bijan Robinson in Week 8. Coach Arthur Smith said the star running back will "be fine," per ESPN.

We don't know a lot of details about what kind of headache Robinson was suffering from. He said he took medicine, but the medicine didn't wipe out his symptoms. His headache was serious enough to limit his playing time but not bad enough to keep him off the field entirely. He did gain three yards on the final drive of the game.

Most headaches go away within a day, so it is highly unlikely Robinson will be suffering from the same headache in Week 8 when the Falcons face the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans are only allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs this season. They have allowed the second-fewest rushing yards to RBs. But opposing teams also aren't running the ball on the Titans. They have only faced the third-fewest rushing attempts.

The Falcons, who average 30.9 attempts per game, rush the ball more often than most of the Titans' previous opponents. However, the Browns and Ravens do rush the ball more often than the Falcons and the Titans limited the Browns to just 78 rushing yards. The Ravens ran for 136 yards against the Titans in Week 6, however, and the Colts ran for 193 yards on the Titans in Week 5, so the Titans rush defense hasn't looked as good lately.
