ANALYSIS: Sixth-round rookie running back Zach Evans posted 1,999 yards on 6.9 yards per carry during his collegiate career with TCU and Ole Miss. He was a big-time recruit and generated a lot of excitement as a prospect, but ultimately, fell to the third day of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) both picked up injuries in the Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, so Evans has a chance to see an increased role in Week 7. It's important not to get too optimistic about his outlook since he has failed to make an impact after Cam Akers was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, but there are surely plenty of fantasy managers in a tough spot at running back this week.
If you're one of those struggling managers, Evans could be worth picking up and starting against a lackluster Steelers' defense. Pittsburgh has surrendered the seventh-most fantasy points per game to running back this season. Although Evans will likely split touches with veteran Royce Freeman, hopefully, the Rams will want to see what they have in the young ball carrier.
