Top Hitter Streamers - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 20

James Outman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects News

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 19 of the 2023 season. Dawn Tepper analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up.

Welcome to another week of sifting through top hitter streamers, RotoBallers! We are looking ahead at the top hitter streamers and starts for fantasy baseball Week 20 -- Monday, August 7 through Sunday, August 13. For those new to this series, each week, our fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

When you find yourself with a hole in your roster due to injury or otherwise, you need to find a week's worth of solid production from a new addition to your roster. That's where streaming comes in. Today, we will review potential hitters to stream in Week 20. Let's see which ones make the list.

We look into some hitters playing in most games and have favorable matchups to help you stay at the top as the season progresses. As always, check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content after you read this piece!

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

There are 11 teams playing seven games between Monday, August 7, and Sunday, August 13. Those teams are:

  • Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Boston Red Sox
  • Philadelphia Phillies
  • Atlanta Braves - eight games, one doubleheader
  • Pittsburgh Pirates
  • New York Mets
  • Minnesota Twins
  • Colorado Rockies - all on the road
  • Washington Nationals
  • Cleveland Guardians
  • Detroit Tigers

Best Sub-50% Rostered Hitters For This Week

This week's notable matchups include the Brewers, Dodgers, Red Sox, Phillies, Braves, Pirates, and Oakland A's. I said it, the A's. Oakland is playing three of their six games next week in hitter-friendly Nat's Park next week versus two out of three right-handed pitchers. In the last two weeks, The A's wRC+ versus righties has moved just over 100 to a 101 wRC+, with 12 home runs and 24 RBI.

Fantasy owners can utilize streamers between teams under 50% rostered.

  • MIL vs. COL, Aug 7-Aug 9
  • LAD vs. COL, Aug 10-Aug 13
  • BOS vs. KC, Aug 7-Aug 10
  • PHI vs. WSH, Aug 7-Aug 10
  • ATL @ PIT, Aug 7-Aug 10
  • PIT vs. CIN, Aug 11-Aug 13

Week 20 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

Seth Brown, 1B, OF - Oakland A's (14% Rostered)

I had to start with Oakland, right? Left-hander Brown and the A's will visit Washington next week, where for the season versus righties, he is slashing .240/.312/.467 with a .228 ISO and 118 wRC+. Pre-All Star break, Brown had a .201/.266/.384 slash line; post All-Star break, he is batting .239/.357/.435

Brown came up with a clutch hit Saturday night versus San Francisco, hitting a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning with pinch-hitters Díaz and Kemp on base, helping the A's snap a four-game losing streak. Roster him while he's got one of the hottest hands for the A's.

James Outman, OF - Los Angeles Dodgers (49% Rostered)

Outman is slashing .253/.354/.434 for the season, .385/.556/.692 in his last five games. The lefty is batting .239/.343/.458 versus right-handed pitchers, with 12 home runs and 41 RBI. With runners on base, he is .300/.398/.536 for the season.

Outman struggled in May, with a slash line of .165/.261/.291, and his struggles at the plate continued through June. He hit  .309/.434/.471 in July, and for August, in 11 plate appearances, he's reached base seven out of 11 times. Outman's turnaround is partly due to working with the Dodgers' batting coaches and tips from teammate Mookie Betts. I'll look for him to continue moving that slash line upward as the season continues.

Carlos Santana, 1B - Milwaukee Brewers (15% Rostered)

Switch-hitting Brewer Santana has had a slow start with his new team but is still slashing .230/.313/.407 for the season. Santana and the Brewers have a good matchup versus the Rockies at the beginning of next week, facing two out of three right-handed pitchers.

Versus righties, Santana is batting .229/.306/.421 with 12 home runs and 40 RBI. In the last two weeks versus right-handers, he is .263/.317/.711 with five home runs and 10 RBI. This week will be full of opportunities for Santana to be a vital contributor to Milwaukee, and I would not hesitate to roster him in all formats.

Connor Wong, C - Boston Red Six (3% Rostered)

Right-handed hitter Wong is .268/.310/.434 versus right-handed pitchers, and he and Boston will face five out of seven righties next week. The Red Sox are in Boston for all seven of their games next week, and for the season at home, Wong is batting .308/.345/.510 with a .855 OPS, five home runs, and 12 RBI.

Eddie Rosario, OF - Atlanta Braves (4% Rostered)

The Braves play eight games next week, and lefty Rosario will be facing seven righties out of eight pitchers. Rosario's last five games haven't been impressive, slashing just .143/.294/.143. But Atlanta is on the road all of next week, and on the road versus right-handers the last two weeks, Rosario is batting .238/.314/.437 with five homers and 17 RBI.

The nine-year veteran has a powerful opportunity to be a solid contributor for the Braves on the road next week. Rosario and the Braves play four games in hitter-friendly PNC Park versus the Pirates next week, where Rosario is batting .304/.400/.464 versus teams in the NL Central. Roster him with confidence in all formats.
