Luis Robert Jr. Resting Against Rangers
10 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is taking the day off on Thursday against the Texas Rangers. Trayce Thompson (oblique), who was activated from the 60-day injured list on Thursday, will make his White Sox debut and start in center field and bat sixth against Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer. Robert was selected to his first All-Star team this year and has been the White Sox's best hitter this season. He's currently batting .267 (109-for-408) with a career-highs across the board in home runs (29), doubles (29), RBI (60), stolen bases (12) and runs scored (70) through 446 plate appearances and 106 games played. He's been a bit more slugging of late, though, going 7-for-30 with a homer, four doubles, three RBI, one steal and four runs scored in his last eight games.
