Welcome to our Underdog Fantasy MLB DFS prop picks for Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Welcome back to our DFS series covering Underdog Fantasy contests! We will continue to focus on the MLB DFS props offered on Underdog called Higher/Lower (Over/Under).

Andrew Abbott 5.5 Strikeouts (LOWER)
Abbott has been excellent through his first four starts in the majors, owning a 1.14 ERA in 23 2/3 innings. The young left-hander has been good on paper, but the stats suggest he's due for some regression, and the Baltimore Orioles are a decent team. The Orioles are top-10 in hits, doubles, home runs, and RBI against left-handed pitching. Abbott also owns a 3.49 BB/9, and the Orioles have drawn the most walks against lefties this season. The top prospect may struggle in this contest.
Julio Teheran 4.0 Strikeouts (LOWER)
The resurgence of Julio Teheran has been one of the season's biggest surprises, but it may be short-lived. The 32-year-old has made six starts in 2023 and has not given up more than two earned runs in any start. Teheran has achieved all this while owning a 5.86 K/9 and racking up more than four strikeouts only three times. The veteran faces the New York Mets, who have the fourth-fewest strikeouts against right-handed pitching this season. Teheran will have a hard time topping four strikeouts.
Esteury Ruiz 7.5 Fantasy Points (LOWER)
Ruiz is the league leader in stolen bases but has yet to contribute much more lately. In his last 20 at-bats, Ruiz has only collected four hits and one run. The speedy outfielder has a walk rate of only 3.8%, so he isn't getting on base if he isn't hitting. If he isn't getting on base, he isn't stealing bases. Ruiz is also hitless in his three at-bats against Yankees starter Jhony Brito.
Fernando Tatis Jr. 0.5 Singles (HIGHER)
Tatis is facing Rich Hill on Tuesday. Hill is primarily a curveball pitcher, throwing it 39.8% of the time in 2023. Tatis has been an impressive hitter, but he's been incredibly dominant against curveballs. Tatis has seen 96 curveballs this season and is batting .429 against them. I expect Tatis to collect at least one single in this contest.
Clayton Kershaw 6.0 Strikeouts (HIGHER)
In his 16th season in the majors, Kershaw remains one of the best pitchers in baseball on a per-inning basis. The 35-year-old owns a K/9 over 10 for only the sixth time in his career, striking out batters 28.5% of the time. The Dodgers play the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday. The Rockies have the second-most strikeouts against left-handed pitching this season. This game is being played at Coors Field, but Kershaw could put up some big numbers in the strikeout department.
Bryce Elder 5.5 Strikeouts (HIGHER)
Elder is not exactly a strikeout artist, averaging less than a strikeout per inning, but I'm taking this prop because of his opponent. The Minnesota Twins have by far the most strikeouts against right-handed pitching this season, 65 more strikeouts than the team with the second-most. Elder has reached six strikeouts eight times this season in 15 starts. The standout rookie will have an excellent chance to get six or more strikeouts for the ninth time on Tuesday.
