We are now into the final week of byes (thank the heavens) and there are just 5 weeks left in the 2022 NFL regular season. This week the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, and Washington Commanders are all on their bye. A big part of what makes fantasy so enjoyable year to year is it shows us just how little we know and for the early to mid-parts of this season, Justin Fields, Josh Jacobs, Chris Olave, and Amon-Ra St. Brown were all incredible values for fantasy as well as in DFS. The key in DFS is to remain flexible in who you play each week as well as knowing when it's time to pivot off of a player for becoming too expensive. Garrett Wilson no longer qualifies as a value play for this article in DFS, but he is likely still a solid WR for your lineups regardless.

Remember, you don't need a player in this article to be the RB1 or WR1 on the week, the main thing is just to find value in the market so you can use our funds to spend elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with choosing a Christian McCaffrey or Josh Allen in DFS, you just have to know that because of it you will have to be cheap elsewhere. The ultimate goal in DFS is to receive the highest output (fantasy points) for the lowest input (player DFS salary). If you are playing in a cash game where 50 percent or so of the entries will cash, it is more important to draft players with a high weekly floor. In a GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool) type of DFS format where you are playing against hundreds and even thousands of other players, you want to be looking for players with as much weekly upside as possible.

This article will run every week throughout the regular season. It won't include the obvious choices but instead players who appear to be undervalued in current DFS formats. As the values currently sit, players will qualify as a value in DFS for this article if they are a quarterback in the 5k range, running backs who are 6k or less, wide receivers at 5.5k and under, and 4k or less for tight ends based on DraftKings salaries. When it comes to tournaments, stacking our quarterback with one of their pass catchers is a must and we should be looking for players with higher guaranteed floors (and consistency) to get us over the 50/50 hump in cash games. No matter which one you decide to play this week, here are some bargain players with potential in Week 13. Now let's get to those picks already!

Quarterback NFL DFS Value Plays - Week 14

Jared Goff, DET vs MIN| DK: $5,600, FD: $7,100

After being featured in last week's article as well as many throughout the season, Jared Goff makes another triumphant return to the weekly DFS values list in what should be a juicy matchup with Minnesota. The Vikings' defense is giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing QBs on the season at 19.9 points per game and the third-most to opposing WRs at 32.2 fantasy points per game! The Vegas over/under in this one is also 51.0 points, and the game will be played indoors, something we should be taking into account this late in the season.

This season, Goff has been more bipolar than Carrie Mathison on an episode of Homeland when it comes to playing at home versus on the road. At home, Goff is 162 of 251 (64.4% comp) with 17 TDs and 3 INTs along with an average of 269.6 passing yards per game. On the road, Goff is 101 of 154 (65.5% comp) with 2 TDs and 4 INTs to go with 227 yards passing per game. Quite a stark contrast I might add!

The good news for Goff is that this week the Lions are at home and Vegas has them favored by 2 points as well. While Goff had been wildly inconsistent, he is coming off of a great performance in Week 13 where he shredded the Jaguars' defense in a 40-14 rout. Goff was 31 of 41 for 340 yards and 2 TDs last week. Stay in the flames at home in what should be another shootout.

Tyler Huntley, BAL at PIT| DK: $5,500, FD: $7,000

Last season Huntley had a QB1 finish in Week 15 against the Green Bay Packers. In the game he was 28 of 40 for 270 passing yards with 2 TDs along with 13 rushing attempts for 73 yards and 2 TDs on the ground which gave him a total of 35.9 fantasy points. Lamar Jackson is going to be out this week after suffering a knee injury in last week's 10-9 win over the Denver Broncos, which gives us an opportunity to play Huntley in fantasy.

Huntley is an intriguing player, not only for fantasy purposes but in dynasty/keeper leagues as well. He is just 24 years old and will be a restricted free agent heading into the 2023 offseason. If the Ravens decide to re-sign Lamar Jackson, then can we assume that Huntley could be dealt to another team with a chance to be the starter or vice versa? The 2023 QB Class is not shaping up to be as highly touted as it was back in the summer, so there may be a market for teams to acquire a veteran QB to be their starter versus drafting a new one.

This week Huntley is potentially an incredible value with his dual-threat ability as a runner and a passer. Mark Andrews had some of his best games of the 2021 season with Huntley as his QB and we could make a reasonable assumption that the Ravens will pass more this week. While the Steelers defense has been better with the return of TJ Watt they haven't been as dominant as years past, so Huntley may move the ball plenty in the air as well as on the ground.

Running Back NFL DFS Value Plays - Week 14

Ezekiel Elliott, DAL at HOU| DK: $6,200, FD: $8,000

While everyone has written him off and left him for dead, Zeke still lives. While he's been spelled by Tony Pollard more than ever, Elliott has still been effective on the ground rushing 157 times for 654 yards with 8 rushing TDs on the season. Where he's been largely ineffective is in the passing game with a career low in receptions. Nonetheless, Zeke has still been a great value for fantasy this season and in the last 5 games played has finished as the RB11, RB10, RB8, RB13, and RB8 in half-PPR formats.

This week the Cowboys are heavily favored against a Houston Texans defense that is giving THE MOST fantasy points to opposing running backs on the season at 26.7 points per game. If you've been following this article each week throughout the season you will see that an RB who is playing against the Texans has been in the DFS values list each week and for good reason. While Zeke may be slowing down, he is still an effective runner and has been the Cowboys go-to running back in the red zone. It feels nearly impossible that he won't find the end zone this week. Play Zeke in what should be a rout and continue to ride the hot hand.

D'Onta Foreman, CAR @ SEA| DK: $5,400, FD: $6,900

Another great comeback story in 2022, Foreman has shined for the Panthers since Christian McCaffrey was traded. In 4 of his 6 games as the starting running back, Foreman has gone for over 100 yards on the ground. So far on the season he's rushed 126 times for 563 yards and 4 TDs to go with just 4 receptions for 25 yards. The Panthers offense has been a painful one to watch, but they have started scoring a lot more points over the last month that they were at the beginning of the year. When it comes to RBs in fantasy we always want to be chasing opportunity/volume more than talent and Foreman has been seeing plenty of work as the Panthers' lead RB.

While the Seahawks defense has improved since the beginning of the year, they are tied for giving up the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs on the season at 25.1 per game. With Foreman seeing the bulk of the team's carries when he is out there, he feels like a good value play for fantasy. The only big concern with Foreman has been his lack of involvement in the passing game so far this season, but his rushing has been impressive. Coming off a thrilling victory against the Rams last weekend this feels like it could be an east coast trap game for the traveling Seahawks.

James Cook, BUF vs NYJ| DK: $4,600, FD: $6,100

A player many scouts like during the draft process and had poised for a big season, Cook largely underwhelmed as a rookie for the first two and a half months of the season as Devin Singletary has largely been the team's lead back. However, we know that head coach Sean McDermott tends to slowly work rookies into the lineup, and we have seen Cook take some steps forward in the last few games. In Week 11 against the Browns, Cook rushed 11 times for 86 yards and in Week 13 against the Patriots, Cook rushed 14 times for 64 yards on top of having 6 receptions for 41 yards. Could we be seeing a changing of the guard in Buffalo? Singletary is a free agent at the conclusion of the 2022 season and the team may want to start building something for the future with Cook.

This week Buffalo plays a stout Jets defense, but they are still such a potent offense and haven't had a hard time putting up points on anyone this season. Given his incredibly low price for a running back in DFS, Cook feels like the kind of player worth taking a gamble on this week. He has a lot of upside even though he has found the endzone just twice on the season. If Cook should receive the bulk of the carries this week, he will become much more expensive in Week 14, so now is our window to take advantage before the market corrects itself.

Wide Receiver NFL DFS Value Plays - Week 14

Adam Thielen, MIN at DET| DK: $4,900, FD: $6,400

Playing quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends against the Detroit Lions defense has been a recipe for success in fantasy all season long. The Lions are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs on the season at 31.9 points per game. As mentioned above in the Jared Goff piece, the over/under for the game is 81.0 points and features to be a shootout. With the Lions defense largely being unable to stop anyone, Thielen is a sneaky good value this week.

While he does appear to be finally slowing down now at age 32, Thielen still has 56 receptions for 580 yards and 3 TDs on the season. He is also averaging close to 7 targets per game and could find the end zone in what should be a game with a lot of scoring. Given that Justin Jefferson is on the opposite side of him, Thielen won't get much attention from the defense at all. He could have some upside for your lineups this week if he can find the end zone.

Zay Jones, JAX at TEN| DK: $4,700, FD: $6,300

A player who is having a sneaky good season, Jones has 60 receptions for 578 yards and a TD on the year. His only issue has just been getting in the end zone. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been much improved in his sophomore season, but there is a chance he may miss Sunday's contest. If that is the case, then veteran CJ Beathard would play in his stead. Beathard has 12 career starts in his career and we can have some confidence in his ability to move the Jaguars' offense.

Jones does feel scarier for DFS purposes with Beathard compared to Lawrence, but he is also incredibly cheap this week. In 11 games Jones is averaging just under 8 targets per game and we should feel good about his chances to get the ball. It's not often that we can find a WR in DFS who seems so many targets for this low of a price point.

DJ Chark, DET vs MIN| DK: $4,300, FD: $5,700

Chark was injured early on in the season, but now is healthy and seems to be settling into the Lions' high-powered offense. In the last two weeks he has played 73 and 84 percent of the team's offensive snaps and in Week 13, Chark had 5 receptions for 98 yards. This week the Lions - Vikings matchup has a high over-under and seems to be the kind of game where we may want players on both sides due to the potential for plenty of scoring.

Amon-Ra is the clear No. 1 option in the Lions passing attack, but he tends to play in the slot which leaves the outside for Chark. Rookie Jameson Williams is now back, but the Lions' coaching staff has him on a snap count while he works his way back from an ACL tear last January. Given Chark's upside and price he has the kind of upside to have a big game.

Tight End NFL DFS Value Plays - Week 14

George Kittle, SF vs TB| DK: $4,300, FD: $5,900

It's no secret that the tight end position has largely been boom-or-bust for fantasy purposes with Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews being viable but not much else. Kittle has had some big games for fantasy, but his numbers have been disappointing overall. On the season, Kittle has just 38 receptions for 472 yards and 4 TDs. The good news for DFS purposes is that he is an athletic tight end who has the ability to stretch the field and score a long touchdown, which is what we want from our tight ends in DFS.

We aren't yet sure how the 49ers offense is going to shake out with rookie Brock Purdy now taking over for the injured Jimmy Garappolo, who once took over for the injured Trey Lance. Kittle has plenty of competition for targets around him in Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk, but we know that often with rookie QBs their ADOT (average depth of target) can be a lot less, which could mean plenty of checkdowns for Kittle. He hasn't been this cheap all year, so it feels like the week we might be able to catch lightning in a bottle at the TE position. On the year the Tampa Bay Bucs are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing TEs at 11.9 points per game.

David Njoku, CLE at CIN| DK: $3,900, FD: $5,600

An athletic specimen in his own right, Njoku has the potential to be great for fantasy purposes with Browns QB Deshaun Watson now back from suspension. Njoku missed the Browns Week 13 contest against the Texans but is expected to be back for this week's divisional matchup against the Bengals. Njoku has seen over 5 targets per game this season and has 41 receptions for 464 yards and 2 TDs on the year.

The Bengals feature a stout defense, but the Browns will be forced to take to the air to keep up with the likes of Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins. Given that the Browns will likely need to score 30+ to win this one, there is a decent chance of Njoku scoring a touchdown or at least seeing plenty of targets. Given how cheap he is this week at TE he is a great value so that you can spend your salary elsewhere.
