Tommy Edman Likely Going on 10-Day Injured List
Tommy Edman (ankle) is likely to go on the 10-day injured list after spraining his right ankle Sunday, manager Dave Roberts told reporters. The Dodgers replaced Edman with Miguel Rojas in the fifth inning of their 3-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Edman's right ankle has been a nagging issue for him throughout the season, and it previously led to a stint on the 10-day IL in the first half of May. The switch-hitting 30-year-old has appeared in 86 games and batted .228/.281/.396 with 12 homers, 44 RBI, and 43 runs scored in 332 plate appearances. If Edman does land on the IL, third baseman Max Muncy (knee) could take his roster spot. Muncy has been out for a month with a knee bruise, but he may be ready to return Monday to start a series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
