Max Muncy Could Return as Early as Monday
Max Muncy (knee) "should return early next week," possibly as early as Monday against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. "He's going to DH today [with OKC], and we'll see how it goes," Roberts said. Muncy hasn't played since July 2 when he suffered a serious knee bruise in a game against the Chicago White Sox. He's gone 3-for-12 with an RBI in four minor-league rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City and is now on the cusp of a return to the big leagues. Muncy is scheduled to serve as the DH on Sunday for OKC, and if he comes out of that well, he could be activated from the 10-day IL before Monday's game in L.A. Rookie Alex Freeland has gotten a look at third recently for the Blue, but Muncy will return to being the primary third baseman when he's activated. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.
