Today is the day after the trade deadline, which means it is Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 and we are back with another installment of free betting picks in Major League Baseball! We have all 30 teams in action today, with nine day games and six night games tonight.

This article will be focused on sides and totals. I am a huge baseball fan and baseball has been my bread and butter for the last couple of decades. Hopefully, I can help you win some pizza money! Today's MLB Betting Picks - Kansas City Royals @ Chicago White Sox

O/U: 8.5 | Moneyline: CHW -150
KC: Brady Singer| CHW: Lance Lynn

There is a great matchup between Brady Singer and Lance Lynn on the Southside of Chicago today that I am looking forward to. Singer is having his best year with a 3.51 ERA, 3.22 xFIP, a 26.6% strikeout rate, and just a 6.1% walk rate. Lynn has not been having a great season as he has a 6.42 ERA but his 3.65 xFIP shows that some improvement could be coming.

Neither of these teams is great offensively. The White Sox are 17th in runs scored, 18th in OBP, and 28th in ISO. The Royals are 27th in runs scored, 20th in OBP, and 26th in ISO. Outside of runs scored, these teams look very similar offensively and that is not good.

The bullpens are not great for either team too. The White Sox are 18th in bullpen ERA and 11th in bullpen xFIP. The Royals have the second-worst bullpen ERA and second-worst bullpen xFIP in the league.

Singer is having a better season than Lynn, both teams are not great offensively, and both teams have below-average bullpens with Kansas City's being really bad.

I am interested in the first five innings Moneyline here for Kansas City as I think Singer can outpitch Lynn early on in this game. Later in this game is where Chicago gets a larger advantage, taking me off of the full game Moneyline.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Oakland A's @ Los Angeles Angels

OAK: James Kaprielian| LAA: Shohei Ohtani

In this matchup, we have one of the best pitchers in baseball in Shohei Ohtani facing off against one of the worst in baseball in James Kaprielian. Ohtani has a 2.81 ERA, a 2.30 xFIP, and a 30.7% K-BB%. Kaprielian has a 4.50 ERA, a 5.26 xFIP, and a 5.6% K-BB%.

Offensively, both of these teams are in the bottom third of the league. The Angels are 25th in runs scored while Oakland is 29th in runs scored. The Angels are also 16th in ISO, and 27th in OBP while the A's are 27th in ISO, and 30th in OBP.

The bullpens are not great either. The Angels have the 23rd best bullpen ERA and the 19th best bullpen xFIP. Oakland has the 21st best bullpen ERA and the 24th best bullpen xFIP.

Shohei Ohtani is great and I expect him to come in and shut the A's down. Kaprielian is not great and the Angels should be able to put up some runs against him. Once the game turns over to the bullpens it is a coin flip though, especially with the Angels trading away Raisel Iglesias.

I believe there is a good chance this game gets over seven runs when the bullpens take over the game. I would be inclined to put a small bet on Oakland as well as we can get +196 on the bet too.
