DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (4/13/22): NBA DFS Lineups

Trae Young - Atlanta Hawks

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on April 13th, 2022. John Brubaker provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers! The NBA Playoffs are here as we have two play-in matchups tonight. I'm continuing to work on my NBA model, trying to gather more information to make sure all of you are as armed as possible going into each slate. Even with the small adjustments I've made so far, it seems to be working. I'm trying to implement different factors to separate cash options against GPP options. I'll continue to keep you all updated with the adjustments I make, and with all of that said, let's get to tonight!

Tonight we have a mini-slate for the play-in games, with two games on tap. With now both FanDuel and DraftKings having multi-position eligibility players, we'll have to attack slates a bit differently to make our lineups as optimal as possible. That's where I come in! I'll look to find my personal top plays and values for tonight's slate. Things can change during the day as well, so I'll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 4/13/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Trae Young - vs CHA (FD: $5,800, DK: $6,100)

I'll start tonight's slate off with Trae Young. Trae went absolutely nuclear last postseason, leading Atlanta to the Eastern Conference Finals, and now looks to recreate the magic starting tonight. Trae was a 1.35 FanDuel and 1.45 DraftKings points per minute player in the situation he's in tonight (as the Hawks are sans John Collins, Lou Williams, etc.). He should play anywhere between 38-42 minutes tonight in what should be a fast-paced, high-scoring affair with Charlotte.

Terry Rozier, at ATL (FD: $4,000, DK: $4,700)

I'll be primarily targeting this game tonight, though I will have some exposure to the West play-in game as well. But this matchup is a tough one to pass up on, and Rozier fits the mold as a 1.05 FanDuel and 1.08 DraftKings points per minute guy in his situation. I can certainly see him playing north of 35 minutes tonight, especially if the game stays within its five-point spread. Rozier is what the kids these days call a "bucket getter" and with a game total of 236.5, you have to figure Rozier is going to get his.

Also consider: LaMelo Ball (FD: $9,000, DK: $9,700), Dejounte Murray (FD: $10,600, DK: $10,800)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

De'Andre Hunter, vs CHA (FD: $4,300, DK: $4,300)

The second Hawk I like tonight is De'Andre Hunter. Outside of the April 8th game against the Heat, Hunter has been producing efficiently from a fantasy-scoring perspective. He's a 0.72 FanDuel and 0.74 DraftKings points in this situation but has been playing above that level over the last two weeks. He should play north of 30 minutes tonight and I expect him to fully take advantage of the matchup against Charlotte, who ranks bottom third in both efficiency and DvP against small forwards.

P.J. Washington, at ATL (FD: $5,000, DK: $5,100)

The second Hornet on my radar tonight is P.J. Washington. Washington sliding into the starting lineup creates a great value opportunity at this price, seeing that he should play around 30-33 minutes tonight. He's a 0.85 FanDuel and 0.84 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation and should be able to take advantage of the Hawks, who rank in the bottom third of the league in power forward efficiency, DvP against power forwards, and will be without John Collins.

Also consider: Herbert Jones (FD: $4,600, DK: $4,500), Danilo Galinari (FD: $5,300, DK: $5,200)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jakob Poeltl, at NO (FD: $6,900, DK: $6,600)

The "one-off" in the West play-in game tonight is Jakob Poeltl. Poeltl is likely my favorite center on the slate, despite the fact that he draws a tough matchup against the Pelicans who rank in the upper third of both center efficiency and DvP against the position. However, he's a 1.01 FanDuel and 0.97 DraftKings point per minute player in his situation, as the Spurs will be without Doug McDermott tonight, and Romeo Langford questionable, but likely to play. While I can bet that Dejounte Murray will get his numbers, Jakob Poeltl is a solid stack OR pivot for San Antonio.

Clint Capela, vs CHA (FD: $7,300, DK: $6,900)

My final Hawk of the night is Clint Capela. Capela is a 1.15 FanDuel and 1.11 DraftKings points per minute player in this situation. While the Hornets are a respectable fifth in center efficiency, they do rank in the bottom five in DvP against the position. I anticipate Capela playing roughly 30 minutes tonight and taking advantage of the Hornets' frontcourt, similar to his 17 points, 15 rebound performance against Charlotte in March.

Also consider: Onyeka Okongwu (FD: $4,200, DK: $3,800), Montrezl Harrell (FD: $4,000, DK: $3,500)
