Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has looked like a new man under center lately. Over the last three games, Rodgers has thrown for 826 passing yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. The 42-year-old carved up the Indianapolis Colts defense this past weekend. He'll now head into a Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have struggled to contain the passing attack.
Who knows how long this is going to last, but fantasy managers should ride out the wave. Rodgers is looking like a safe streaming option against the Buccaneers in Week 6. He has played well enough to be viewed as a viable option for this upcoming weekend.
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
After logging 3,727 passing yards, 498 rushing yards, and 29 total touchdowns in 2025, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was widely viewed by fantasy managers as a no-doubt top-12 quarterback entering 2026. However, the 28-year-old has played some of the worst football of his career through the first five weeks of the season, completing just 59.4% of his pass attempts for 937 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
The Chargers offense has also collapsed around Herbert. In Week 5, Los Angeles was without tackles Joe Alt (neck) and Rashawn Slater (ankle), as well as wide receivers Ladd McConkey (foot), Quentin Johnston (chest), and Brenen Thompson (quad). Between his own struggles and the situation around him, Herbert is no longer a must-roster player for fantasy managers.
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
When asked if quarterback Tyler Shough's left (non-throwing) hand is broken, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore was non-committal on Monday, according to Saints sideline reporter Jeff Nowak. "It got banged two weeks ago, and he's just wearing some protective layers there," Moore said. Shough got his second NFL season started out with a bang, but he has underwhelmed in each of the last two weeks in losses to the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.
Facing one of the best defenses in the league in Minnesota on Sunday, Shough had his worst day at the offense through five games, going 16-for-25 passing for only 96 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in a 23-13 loss.
He threw for 286 yards and one touchdown in the Week 4 loss to Atlanta after throwing for eight TDs and three interceptions in the first three games of 2026. Shough did not look right against Minnesota and could be playing through a broken hand, but that should not stop him from having bounce-back potential on the QB1/2 radar in Week 6 against the New York Giants.
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has emerged as one of the NFL's biggest early-season fantasy risers, producing at a level few expected entering 2026. The 25-year-old has thrown for at least 287 yards in all four starts, completing 101 of 162 passes for 1,268 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Young was particularly impressive before Carolina's Week 5 bye, completing 29 of 41 attempts for 329 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-26 victory over the Detroit Lions.
His improvement becomes even more striking when compared with last season, when he averaged just 188.2 passing yards and 29.9 attempts per game. Those figures have climbed to 317 yards and 40.5 attempts through four contests in 2026, giving Young the passing volume necessary to support consistent fantasy production. His limited rushing contributions, totaling 19 yards and one touchdown, remain a concern for his weekly ceiling.
However, RotoBaller ranks Young as the QB11 entering Sunday's road matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, making him a legitimate starting consideration in 12-team fantasy leagues.
Drake Maye, New England Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was playing at a very concerning level through the first three weeks of the season, but he seemed to flip a switch in Week 4. Now, over his last two games, he has a whopping eight touchdowns and just two turnovers, including five total touchdowns in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Maye has now ranked as the highest-scoring quarterback in each of the last two weeks, signifying an utterly impressive turnaround.
There's no guarantee that Maye continues to play at this level for the rest of the season, but he has quickly gotten himself back into the overall QB8 spot in total scoring this year, and he should only trend upward with top wide receiver A.J. Brown (ankle) likely returning from injured reserve very soon. The former No. 3 pick out of UNC is firmly back in must-start territory moving forward.
He should continue to feast in Week 6 against a very shaky New York Jets defense.
