Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
Nico Collins, WR, Houston Texans
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins bounced back from his quiet game in Week 12 with a monster showing in his team's Week 13 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The 26-year-old hauled in five catches for 98 yards on 10 targets and also recorded a seven-yard rushing touchdown.
Collins has now hauled in 57 catches for 795 yards and four touchdowns on 95 targets across 11 games this season. Dating back to Week 7, Collins has earned double-digit targets in five out of his last six games played. He clearly has the full trust of Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, who returned in Week 13 after missing two games with a concussion.
Houston has also played much better football overall in the second half of the season, as they have now won four consecutive games. Collins profiles as a must-start fantasy wide receiver heading into a critical Week 14 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chase Brown, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown looked good in the Thanksgiving win over the Baltimore Ravens. The 25-year-old didn't find the end zone, although he still got it done for fantasy managers by finishing with 78 yards off 15 carries (5.2 YPC) while catching all seven of his targets for 35 yards.
The Bengals were fortunate to get Joe Burrow (toe) back from a lengthy stint on the Injured Reserve list. Unfortunately, Tee Higgins (concussion) didn't suit up after taking a hit in the Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots.
The Bengals have a few extra days to recover before the Week 14 meeting with the Bills in Buffalo. While Brown is back to being considered a must-start fantasy option, his ceiling will be higher if Higgins remains sidelined.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught three of his four targets for 26 yards in a 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13. Jeudy had a chance for a bigger game as he got open behind the San Francisco defense in the first quarter but was overthrown by Shedeur Sanders.
The veteran wideout is turning in a disappointing season, catching just 35 passes for 421 yards and one touchdown across 12 games. Hard to trust in fantasy leagues going forward, Jeudy will look to get on track in Week 14's home matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (knee) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice session. Jacobs sat out the Week 12 victory over the Minnesota Vikings with a knee contusion, but he returned last week for the Thanksgiving Day win against the Detroit Lions.
It appears Jacobs is still dealing with lingering effects from his knee injury. He looked solid in Week 13, when he rushed for 83 yards on 17 attempts against Detroit. Jacobs being limited to begin the week is likely just the team being overly cautious.
The 27-year-old workhorse should be viewed as a high-end RB1 for the upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 14.
Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that wide receiver Tee Higgins (concussion) will be limited in practice on Wednesday, according to Jay Morrison of SI.com. Higgins is making progress from a concussion that kept him from playing in the Thanksgiving Day win over the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday, but he's still in the league's concussion protocol and needs to check a few more boxes before he can be cleared to return this Sunday to face the Buffalo Bills.
The Bengals got Ja'Marr Chase back from a one-game suspension last week, and they could have both of their star receivers this weekend against a banged-up Bills defense. If Higgins is able to get the green light to play in Week 14, it would push Andrei Iosivas back to WR3 duties and make him avoidable as a flex play in most fantasy football leagues.
The 26-year-old Tee Higgins is a must-start when active, as he's caught 40 passes for 575 yards and seven touchdowns this year on 70 targets.
