Bubba Chandler Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
In his most recent outing on Wednesday evening, the right-hander took a step back facing Triple-A Iowa. In this outing, Chandler allowed five hits and five runs across 5 1/3 innings of work. He served up a hefty four free passes while striking out just two hitters.

This was a rough outing for Chandler as he was coming off one of his best starts of the season. On July 24, Chandler tossed 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball with seven punchouts en route to picking up the victory over Toledo.
Even though he has now allowed at least five runs in two starts this month, he has also logged 17 2/3 innings of just two-run ball in his other three appearances, suggesting he still possesses elite upside despite his occasional blow-up outings.
Bubba Chandler Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
Given Chandler's inconsistencies, he is hard to stash in standard leagues. In June, Chandler had his worst month of the season, as he allowed 12 runs across 12 2/3 total innings. However, during his first 48 2/3 innings of the Triple-A regular season, Chandler looked dominant, logging a 2.03 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, with a 69:21 K:BB.
During his first taste of Triple-A last season, Chandler posted a strong 1.83 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP across 39 1/3 innings of work.
With the Pirates out of the playoff picture, they could look to give Chandler a taste of the majors during the back half of the season. Given his strikeout potential, he is worth holding on your bench in all 12+ team leagues in Week 19.
