Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs - Fantasy Football Outlook

Isiah Pacheco enters his 3rd season in the NFL, coming off a career year in 2023. He finished as the RB16 on a per-game basis, averaging nearly 14 fantasy points per game. Despite playing just 14 games last season, Pacheco tallied 50 red zone touches, good for 7th among all running backs.

Of players with over 50 red zone touches in 2023, only Tony Pollard (6) scored fewer touchdowns than Pacheco (9).

While many teams added running backs in the offseason via the NFL Draft and Free Agency, the Chiefs seemed content going into the 2024 season with Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Since CEH hasn't played much in recent years, Pacheco seems poised for another significant workload this season. Per Fantasy Points Data, the 3rd-year back out of Rutgers was 6th among running backs in explosive run rate with 7+ men in the box (6.1%).

That was higher than Saquon Barkley, Breece Hall, Derrick Henry, and Christian McCaffrey. Pacheco, who had a 72.4% opportunity share in 2023, seems poised to at least match that in 2024. Consider him a safe low-end RB1 this season with some upside in one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.

- Adam Koffler, RotoBaller

Nick Chubb, Browns - Fantasy Football Outlook

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) has been the best pure runner in the league over the last six seasons. He has averaged at least 5.0 yards per carry every year he has been in the league, and he finished first in yards after contact per attempt in 2018, 2019, and 2020 (min. 150 carries), which is an efficiency metric that tells how many yards a running back gets beyond what the offensive line blocks for.

He finished second in 2021 and 2022. Plain and simple, Chubb is the best pound-for-pound runner in football. He was on his way to another stellar season when it was derailed by a devastating knee injury in Week 2.

Chubb tore the MCL in his left knee, which had already been repaired once from a similar injury in his second season at Georgia (torn MCL, PCL, and LCL), as well as his ACL and meniscus. It was a gruesome injury, but fortunately not career-threatening as originally feared.

In his first press conference since the injury, Chubb told the media that "I'm right where I need to be" and that "my goal is to be back out there," but it appears increasingly likely that he will not be ready for the start of the season as he did not give a timeline for his return.

Chubb has been sprinting and doing agility work. According to Browns general manager Andrew Berry, he has "a little way to go" with his rehab. The most likely scenario is that Chubb starts the season on the Physically Unable to Perform List, which would cost him at least the first six games of the regular season.

Chubb's ADP currently sits at RB39 on Yahoo in the 10th or 11th round, right in front of his backup Jerome Ford, but expect that ADP to drastically change as Chubb will remain on the PUP list and be out at least four games. Early drafters should take caution and only draft Chubb as a luxury pick that does not need to be relied on.

- Frank Dyevoich, Esq., RotoBaller

Chase Brown, Bengals - Fantasy Football Outlook

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown had a relatively quiet rookie season in 2023. He missed time with a hamstring injury and only received five touches during the team's first 11 games. Starting Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brown began to gain some steam.

The Bengals coaching staff must have seen something they liked, as Brown averaged nearly nine touches and 53 scrimmage yards per game from Weeks 13-18. That would equate to roughly 150 touches and 900 scrimmage yards over a 17-game season.

That would be enough to warrant flex consideration in fantasy leagues. His final stats underwhelmed, but Brown displayed big-play ability during the year. Head Coach Zac Taylor has hinted at Brown receiving a more significant role this season.

While Zack Moss was brought in as the lead back, he has never handled more than 210 touches in a season and has never been a significant pass-catching threat. There is room for Brown to carve out a role in this offense.

He has stand-alone value as a flex option in PPR leagues with an upside for more. Ranked as RotoBaller's RB32, Brown is a great target later in drafts and is a worthwhile investment in all leagues.

- David Ventresca, RotoBaller

Blake Corum, Rams - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Los Angeles Rams drafted Blake Corum in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to help ease Kyren Williams' workload. Williams missed OTAs with a "foot issue" but doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Week 1.

The red flags there have elevated the rookie's buzz this summer. The 5-foot-8 Corum showed immense power behind Michigan's stout offensive line, totaling nearly 60 touchdowns in 49 games across three starting seasons.

Most swoon over 27 rushing TDs in '23, but his 4.8 yards per carry dropped from 5.9 the year before. Volume is no concern here as Corum topped 250 touches as both a junior and senior, though he was rarely involved as a receiver.

If that more effective rusher seen in Michigan in 2022 meets a starting opportunity within McVay's creative rushing scheme, then the top 10 weeks are possible. Corum's half-PPR ADP has risen into the first 10 rounds of 12-team drafts with a Yahoo ADP of 127 and a RotoBaller overall ranking of 127 (RB41).
