Travis Homer is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Chicago Bears running back Travis Homer will operate as the team's RB2 in Week 15, at worst. With Roschon Johnson (concussion) out for another game, he's next on the depth chart. However, starter D'Andre Swift (groin) missed practice on Thursday and Friday with a ground injury before logging a limited session on Saturday. He is officially questionable to face the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
The Vikings have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to ball carriers, so Homer does not have a ton of upside even if he's elevated to the RB1 role. That said, fantasy managers in deep leagues who are counting on Swift should consider picking Homer up as a last-minute replacement option. The 26-year-old caught three passes in Week 14, and that's his likely path to any upside if he's elevated to the starting role.
It's tough to get excited about Homer's fantasy outlook. He has just 469 rushing yards and 475 receiving yards in 74 career games. That said, deep-league fantasy managers know any potential starter has value and will likely be in starting lineups given the scarcity of options. Consider Homer a fringe flex option if Swift cannot play.
