Top Hitter Streamers for Week 7: Head-to-Head or Weekly Leagues

Below are my top MLB hitter streamer options for Week 7 of fantasy baseball. This week, the recommendations are for some older players who have declined who I am hopeful can be rejuvenated by good park factors and having 7 or 8 games.  All five players listed here are 50% owned or less in Yahoo leagues and play at least seven games this week - with Colorado having eight.

Streaming hitters is a great way to increase production and fantasy stats off the waiver wire for your head-to-head matchups, or if you're dealing with some underperformers on your roster. Check back weekly for my favorite hitter streamers for the upcoming week.

Editor’s Note: RotoBaller’s fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups list is updated every single day. Our awesome writers bring you analysis on hot or emerging starting pitchers, and also all other fantasy positions. You can also download our waiver wire iPhone app for free, and easily stay updated.

1. Ryan Howard, 1B, Phillies

(4 @ Colorado, 3 @ Washington) - 14% owned

Howard isn't what he used to be, and this recommendation isn't thinking he will revert to his superstar form.  But, he has hit three home runs in the past two weeks, and he has four games in Colorado.  He has .829 OPS versus righties, and he will be facing six this week.  He won't get you steals or average, but in ideal parks versus righties, he could really boost you in the power categories if he gets hot.

2. Brandon Belt, 1B, Giants

(3 vs Los Angeles, 4 @ Colorado) - 50% owned

Brandon Belt has not shown the power stroke yet this year, but he just hit his first homer Saturday.  And he has 25 homer power over the course of a season, and can hit for a respectable average.  Mix in Coors Field, and I'm willing to bet on him finding his power stroke this week.

3. Nori Aoki, OF, Giants

(3 vs Los Angeles, 4 @ Colorado) - 33% owned

Aoki has already stolen 9 bases this year.  He is hitting .279, and has never hit lower, so he should provide good average as well.  In Colorado, there's even a chance he could hit a home run.  And if he gets on base, the guys behind him could very well knock him in.  Aoki is the best stolen bases / run combo of the seven game bunch this week.

4. Nick Hundley, C, Rays

(4 vs Philadelphia, 4 vs San Francisco) - 22% owned

Catchers are generally not good bets in the utility slot due to not playing everyday, but with eight games, Hundley should likely get six starts.  He hits righties well, and it's possible that all six matchups could be against righties.  If you need a catcher, look no further.  If you need a utility hitter, you could do much worse.  Hundley could provide some pop, average, and counting stats.

5. Chase Utley, 2B, Phillies

(4 @ Colorado, 3 @ Washington) - 48% owned

Utley has been terrible this season - there is no way around that.  But that's why he's available in more than half of Yahoo leagues.  His OPS is 50% higher versus righties.  His strikeout rate is still good at 15.7%, and he has started stringing together some hits.  He is a gamble, but if you need a middle infielder, he may be worth the shot that playing in Colorado gets him back to form as a guy with some pop and speed who can hit for a good average.
