Should I Pickup Dare Ogunbowale or Jawhar Jordan? Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 16

Jawhar Jordan - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I pickup Dare Ogunbowale or Jawhar Jordan as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 16 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.

The Houston Texans have dealt with several injuries at the running back position this season. Joe Mixon has not played at all due to a foot/ankle issue, and Nick Chubb was absent for Week 15 with a rib injury.

Now, starter Woody Marks is dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered on Sunday versus Arizona. With both Marks and Chubb hurt, fantasy managers will naturally look to the next guys up for production.

Should you pick up Dare Ogunbowale or Jawhar Jordan for Week 16? Let's take a look.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Playoff Challenge is back with a massive $500,000 grand prize and $1.35 million total prize pool, paying down to 800th place. Here's the deal: no salary cap, no draft, no pickups, no subs. Choose 10 players, and as NFL teams get knocked out so will your players, so choose your team wisely. The 7,250 entries will sell out quickly, and registrations will close on Saturday January 10th at 4:30 pm ET . Don't wait - get your team now and end your fantasy football season with a shot at $500,000! Sign Up Now!

Dare Ogunbowale Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook

Ogunbowale is in his ninth year in the league after going undrafted in 2017. His impact this season has been minute. Ogunbowale has just nine carries for 25 yards and one score on the ground, and he has made eight catches on 10 targets for 68 yards through the air. The 31-year-old back has reached a snap share of 20 percent just three times this year.

With Marks exiting prematurely on Sunday, Ogunbowale saw more involvement. However, that only amounted to five carries for a paltry two yards, though he did add three catches for 32 yards on four targets. Ogunbowale is not an appealing fantasy option, even if both Marks and Chubb are unable to suit up for Week 16.

Jawhar Jordan Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook

Like Ogunbowale, Jordan went undrafted out of college. However, Jordan is just a second-year player who, before Sunday, had not played in an NFL game in his career. He was elevated from the practice squad ahead of Week 15, though, to make his debut in the league.

Jordan stepped up against Arizona, carrying the ball 15 times for 101 yards. He ripped off a 50-yard run in the third quarter that set up a Texans touchdown. Jordan also caught both of his targets for 17 yards. With 12.8 half-PPR points, he ranked as Week 15's RB18.

Jordan also played 42 percent of the team's offensive snaps, which led all Texans running backs. While he reverted to Houston's practice squad after the game, Jordan would return to the active roster should Marks or Chubb miss further time. That would put him in line to have a real role once again.

Should I Pickup Dare Ogunbowale or Jawhar Jordan For Fantasy Football?

Both Marks and Chubb are expected to return in short order, as their injuries are not seen as significant. Indeed, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans suggested Marks could have returned to Sunday's game if necessary. If both return as expected, neither Jordan nor Ogunbowale would likely provide fantasy value.

However, if they remain out, Jordan is clearly the back to pursue on the waiver wire over Ogunbowale. He was more involved in Week 15, as he had three times as many carries as Ogunbowale and also played more snaps. Moreover, Jordan was far more efficient, posting 6.9 yards per opportunity compared to Ogunbowale's 3.8.

With his performance in his debut, Jordan showed that he can be Houston's lead back when Marks and Chubb are sidelined. Ogunbowale gave no such indication. Moreover, the Texans take on the Raiders in Week 16. Las Vegas has yielded the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing RBs this season, so whoever leads Houston's backfield will see a favorable matchup.

With this in mind, Jordan should be a target to add this week in case Marks or Chubb gets held out. Ogunbowale, on the other hand, can remain on waivers.
