Yuli Gurriel Out Of The Lineup Friday
3 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Cleveland Indians. Gurriel is receiving a normal day of rest here, so fantasy managers will need to find a replacement to begin the holiday weekend. The 37-year-old has been one of the best hitters in an explosive Houston offense, hitting .325/.393/.504 with 10 home runs, 41 runs scored and 53 RBI in 274 at-bats. Infielder Taylor Jones, who was called up from Triple-A on Friday, is getting the start at first base and is hitting seventh against Indians left-hander Sam Hentges. Jones has just eight hits in 46 at-bats (.174) with no homers in three different stints with Houston this year, but he is batting .316 (6-for-19) with three RBI against southpaws in that time. He represents a deep DFS sleeper on Friday night.
