Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve Both Activated Wednesday
1 year agoThe Houston Astros activated outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (oblique) and second baseman Jose Altuve (oblique) from the injured list on Wednesday and optioned outfielder Bligh Madris and DH David Hensley to the minors in corresponding moves. It remains to be seen if both Alvarez and Altuve will be in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the visiting Texas Rangers and left-hander Andrew Heaney, but fantasy managers have to be ecstatic to get them both back. Alvarez hasn't played since June 8 due to a right-oblique injury, but he's a must-start when healthy as a difference-maker in fantasy when he's healthy. Altuve got a late start to 2023 due to a fractured thumb and missed the last three weeks with a left-oblique injury. The 33-year-old could also be a difference-maker for fantasy lineups the rest of the way if he can stay healthy.
