Yankees Haven't Discussed Extension For DJ LeMahieu
5 years agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu said there haven't been any discussions yet with the team regarding a contract extension. LeMahieu was one of the best values in all of baseball in 2019, as he broke out to the tune of a .327/.375/.518 slash line with 26 home runs, 109 runs scored, 102 RBI and five stolen bases in 145 games in his first year in the Bronx. He was named to the All-Star team for the third time and finished fourth in the voting for American League MVP. It may be hard for LeMahieu to match those numbers in his second year with the Bombers, but his contact-first approach should at least guarantee a high average for his fantasy owners. Don't overpay, but LeMahieu is currently ranked as RotoBaller's No. 8 fantasy second baseman behind Whit Merrifield.
