Yandy Diaz Receives Encouraging MRI Results
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that corner infielder Yandy Diaz (groin) received encouraging MRI results on Wednesday and that he's doing well after sitting out Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Diaz left Tuesday's game with left-groin tightness, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury and should be considered day-to-day. Tampa also has a scheduled off day on Thursday before beginning a weekend series against the Houston Astros on Friday, so it's possible that Diaz will only end up missing one game. The 31-year-old Cuban has been an excellent table-setter for the Rays and fantasy managers this year, and he's currently slashing a strong .318/.401/.508 with a .909 OPS, 14 home runs, 49 RBI and 60 runs scored in 327 at-bats. The only place where Diaz doesn't contribute is stolen bases.
