Yandy Diaz Leaves With Testicular Contusion
1 year agoUpdating a previous report, the Tampa Bay Rays said that first baseman Yandy Diaz (groin) left the game early on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins in the fifth inning with "a testicular contusion." Ouch. Diaz fouled a ball off that him in a sensitive area near his groin and was replaced at first base by Isaac Paredes, with Curtis Mead entering the game to play third base. For now, fantasy managers should consider Diaz to be day-to-day and check back on his status on Wednesday. Before leaving, he went 0-for-2 with a walk to drop his season average to .323. The 32-year-old Cuban All-Star has been a must-start fantasy asset in all league formats this year, so hopefully he won't miss a considerable amount of time with this painful and unfortunate injury.
