Will Levis 2023 Outlook: Could Have Late-Season Value If Tannehill Struggles
1 year agoTennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis surprisingly fell to the No. 33 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but with Ryan Tannehill heading into the last year of his contract, he has a path to be the Titans' QB of the future. The 24-year-old had an up-and-down final season at Kentucky, completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 2,406 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions -- adding just two rushing scores. His prospect profile was largely built on his redshirt junior campaign when he racked up over 3,000 total yards and 33 total touchdowns. Levis has the physical tools to be a high-level deep ball passer, but his supporting cast at Kentucky made him difficult to evaluate. The acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins signals Tennessee isn't ready to commit to a rebuild, so Tannehill is likely to be the season-long starter in 2023. The former Wildcat is already 24 and won't have a fifth-year option since he wasn't a first-round draft choice, but if Tannehill is still far more effective than Levis, he'll start most or all of the season. It's not ideal to bank on Levis being a real fantasy contributor this season, but he sets up to be a fine bench stash in the QB3 spot for superflex and two-QB formats. His playing time will depend on Tannehill's play and health, but if he does draw a start or two, he could have upside now that Hopkins joins Treylon Burks and Chigoziem Okonkwo in the Titans' offense. Levis also has more rushing upside than given credit for.
