The New York Rangers have picked up defenseman Will Borgen in a trade with the Seattle Kraken. Additionally, the team received a third-round and sixth-round draft pick in a deal that saw winger Kaapo Kakko go the other way. Borgen looks like a replacement for the recently departed Jacob Trouba, who was traded to Anaheim on Dec. 6. Borgen, who turned 28 on Thursday, has been limited to two points (one goal, one assist) in 33 games with the Kraken this season but brings physicality to the team. He has logged 48 hits this season with 37 blocks. Across the previous two campaigns, Borgen averaged 2.43 hits per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
