Seattle Kraken defenseman Will Borgen has inked a two-year extension with the club. He earned himself a nice $5.4 million deal that comes with a $2.7 million cap hit. By getting the contract sorted, the Kraken avoided an arbitration hearing with Borgen, who was a restricted free agent following a career-best season. The 26-year-old totaled 20 points in 82 games on the Seattle blue line, and he was a big presence on the defensive end, delivering 203 hits and registering 89 blocks. It took Borgen quite some time to settle in the NHL, but he was now found himself a nice role in Seattle and we can expect similar production from him in 2023-24. The Kraken also signed veteran forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare to a one-year, $775,000 contract Friday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
