Wander Franco Not In The Lineup Monday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles. Franco, the top prospect in baseball heading into this season, has disappointed so far in 74 at-bats at the major league level, going 16-for-74 (.216) with three home runs, eight RBI and two stolen bases. He's also struck out 19 times and walked six times. However, the 20-year-old switch-hitting phenom is in the midst of a three-game hitting streak and hit his third home run on Sunday. Fantasy managers should be patient with the young shortstop in all leagues. Taylor Walls is at shortstop and is batting ninth on Monday against Orioles right-hander Spenser Watkins. Walls, 25, doesn't have nearly the upside that Franco possesses, and he's hitting just .231 with a home run, 12 RBI and three steals in 104 at-bats this year.
